Meso Powerlifting Corner

Squat rack, bench and some plates in the living room. If you want it bad enough you'll find a way lol

Yea we'll be trying. Home gym isn't an option at this point. The place will be too small. We will find a way though. One of her jobs in the the same plaza as a New York Sports Club so there's that option.

When I first got my
Squat rack this is exactly what I did! Until my first deadlift day and shattered the tiles under the rubber matts putting 405 down.... It since was moved to the garage and now unfortunately is in storage

Shitty sessions always have me come back and smash my next workout so just channel that energy!
Punishing myself with a spin class with the crazy paleo loving spin instructor in a minute. This lady will make me remember how much the cardio paleo life sucks and squats are the way to go:p

I'll only use that rack with a spotter so I don't die.
aww man change your tampon :D

Speaking of potential accidents in the rack..I tried a new variation of BB lunges, backsquat bar placement but with a band from the rack to your waist to give you slight assistance in balance and coming out of the deep lunge. I did a few sets at 225 full depth then hopped up to 315 to gauge, I kinda like these. Im gonna throw some in there with front rack bar placement as well and see what I can do in 4 weeks.

for reference @2:12

Just getting caught up in here. Sad to admit but I've missed several reps pulling in each of my training cycles leading up to my last three meets.

As I get older pulling for reps gets tougher and tougher. I've failed during training on some reps I didn't even think would be an 8 RPE going in. Unfortunately I've already missed a few reps in this meet training cycle as well.

The positive is that I have hit PR's pulling in each of those meet's. Granted they haven't been huge jumps each time but I'm slowly inching towards 600.

No fucking way I could pull 405 11 times like Rodger and Perrin pulled it 15 times today.

I'm a fan of using some unusually high rep ranges on deadlift at times. I'm not suggesting Crossfit or doing sets of 10 every week, but utilizing 6's, 8's and 10's at certain times or taking a light weight like 405 and just going to town is a great way to blast through plateaus when you've been running low reps for awhile.

I agree with you. Rep work on deadlifts can have a lot of benefits. It just eats my CNS up these days.

I've heard deadlift AMRAPs don't agree with everyone. I did a set of 495x8 last year that totally kicked my ass more than any session I'd ever done. Felt like death the rest of the weekend. No appetite, heart rate was elevated. I was seeing stars right after the set and felt sick and got more sick as the day went on.

Definitely builds some endurance and mental toughness, too.

Well anytime u guys are feeling down just remember some of us are living in post cycle world for the next couple months. Hasnt been that bad for me this time around. Had a bad workout or two the other week but after a little break im doing very well the past few sessions. Feeling strong as hell still, and form and technique have been their best ever. The biggest negative has been that deflated feeling and not getting a good pump. That only sucks when I do my accessory/bodybuilding style work after my big compound lifts. I've always been a pump chaser/ powerlifter. Size matters! Heres a pic to illustrate from the start of tonight's session Snapchat-667224030756099685.jpgand I swear my calves ain't that small, damn lack of angle and posing skills haha
