Normal for DNP to cause face bloat?

Hey I’ve heard stories of guys gaining significant water retention from dnp. Does this mean one’s face will be a lot puffier than normal during their dnp run? Is it dose dependent?

Definitely a possibility since water retention can cause bloating anywhere. It definitely caused water retention for me.

Do you think the bloating is related to carb intake? I know carbs exacerbate some side effects like heat and sweating.
Oddly enough, I experienced the most drop in weight when consuming carbs, not abstaining from them. It added to the discomfort since it caused me to heat up, but low carb on DNP didn’t help me at all in the fat burn.

It's not related to carb intake. Water retention is likely dose dependent but it varies because there are dieting factors aside from the DNP that can cause water retention... Using any AAS with the DNP is another factor by itself.

AAS cause more water retention than DNP though, IME. Sweating and lethargy are much more noticeable than water retention. Most of the water doesn't seem to be subcutaneous and thus less noticeable.

Even dry AAS such as tren, mast, winny etc...?

It’s strange, some say they blow up and look fat on dnp, others say they just retain water while visibly losing fat. Maybe it’s diet related? I know some people end up binging on their dnp runs

Also, is there any good way to prevent water retention from AAS?

You will look flat more than fat. It can be hard to tell the difference.

People binge because of how it affects appetite but also because they try to eat nothing then break down and binge... Not unusual in the population regardless of DNP use.

Use an isocaloric diet slightly lower than maintenance calories and ride it out... If you try to do 1200cal a day you'll end up binging and shoot yourself in the foot. Slow and steady.

Thanks. Now it’s all starting to make sense. I think my diet and especially water intake are the two main culprits. Possibly estrogen as I seem to be sensitive to test so I’ll lower it to 100mg a week. I’m not planning on becoming an ifbb pro so I don’t think a high dose is necessary anyways

Also, just curious how do you personally manage your diet to avoid excess bloat?

I keep it consistent mostly... I heavily salt my food on a regular basis so it's not like I have wildly varying sodium intake, it's just always high and my body is adjusted. Water intake definitely helps the most for me but I don't like running to the bathroom constantly so I teeter off at times.

So if I were planning an AAS cycle after a dnp run. When, in your opinion would be the best time to start the cycle? Is it better to start right away or wait until the dnp clears (I’m not entirely sure how long that takes, like 7-10 days from what I’ve heard.) When do you think the body would be ready and primed for glycogen storage and protein synthesis ? I wouldn’t want to waste any AAS

Depends on what AAS you're running... I would say in general it's ideal to overlap the start/end of the AAS/DNP by one week.

About 3-5 days post DNP is when you'll want to heavily increase carb intake. Don't overshoot caloric need but really hit the carbs hard, lots of electrolytes and lean protein.

Thanks. Looks like I’m on the right track then. I definitely plan to keep at a moderate deficit for the next few weeks as I want to get to sub 10% bodyfat while performing and looking the best I can. And also because from past dnp cycles, fat rebound is very easy to occur for the 1-2 weeks after the last dose. Since this short run I made visible and substantial progress, finally gotten my waist to 30 inches from 33.5 inches. Oddly enough my weight is only down 5lbs. I’m sitting at 193lbs. My goal is to get my waist down to 28-29 inches while putting on a few lbs of dry muscle these next two months.
