Nova's First Anavar Cycle Log

Viola! I see a little bit of an improvement. I don't have washboard abs but I'm happy with the turnout thus far.

Thhhannnkkkk yyyooouuuu @Geterdun! I really want to buckle down and put in the grind in the next couple of weeks. I hope to have better results at the end of my cycle. When there is a will, there is a way.

Girl, I'm not so sure I would be unhappy with what you've done already. Christ, buckle down more and we won't recognize you anymore! Keep killing it. Motivation for sure!

Day 43 (August 23nd, 2016)
Thank you everyone for the nice compliments. It’s very nice of you to say. I increased my dosage from 10mg/day to 15mg/day.

Globo Gym workout:
I really want to do back squats today because this lift is not included in this week’s CrossFit workouts. Why? I have no idea! Anyway, today is the perfect day do back squats BUT… I do have a minor injury in my right knee on top of my ankle problem (see Day 7 post). I wore my knee sleeves to increase blood flow and reduce pain and this is what happened:

Back Squat
1 set x 5 reps with the bar (45 lbs)
1 set x 5 reps at 65 lbs
1 set x 5 reps at 95 lbs
1 set x 2 reps at 135 lbs <-- had to tap out. My knee was screaming.

This was very disappointing because my back squat PR is 200 lbs and 135 lbs should have been smooth sailing. I believe I overexerted my quadriceps tendon – I am not sure if it tore or pulled. I can walk on it fine, but I feel discomfort when walking upstairs, doing step-ups or rising from a squat/quarter squat position.

I’ll have my doctor check out my knee, along with my ankle at my appointment on August 30th. Until then, it will be mostly upper body strength training for me.

Globo gym workout continued…

Bent Over Rows with the barbell
1 set x 5 reps with the bar (45 lbs)
1 set x 5 reps at 55 lbs
1 set x 5 reps at 65 lbs
1 set x 5 reps at 85 lbs
1 set x 5 reps at 95 lbs

Standing Curls with a fixed weight curling bar (40 lbs)
1 set x 10 reps
2 sets x 8 reps

CrossFit workout:
I was supposed to practice clean & jerk tonight. Unfortunately, due to my knee injury I wasn’t capable to participate with the rest of the crew. However, I still went to the class to become an active listener. It's the least I can do. I did learn a few things from listening and watching the coach.

When I got home, I ate a nectarine then hopped onto my GHD machine and did 50 sit-ups.

Day 44 (August 24th, 2016)

CrossFit Workout:

Day 45 (August 25th, 2016)

@Nova Skye hey girl, sorry, but went on vacation and had no service there. I'm sorry to hear about your quad. That's not a small muscle, so be careful, mine took a long while to heal 100%.

Now the good news: Look at your PR's! Just amazing. Do you feel 150 would have been in reach if you wouldn't have set the other PR's first and maybe tired out a bit? I mean 20lbs is big, but ten more lbs is nothing if your fresh. Great work!

Day 46 (August 26th, 2016)
I made a responsible decision by not going to CrossFit until I see my doctor on Tuesday, August 30th.

Globo gym workout
I attempted to deadlifts but I felt discomfort in my knee.

I was able to do the Barbell Hip Thrust:
-1 set x 10 reps @ 25 lbs (bar)
-1 set x 10 reps @ 75 lbs
-1 set x 10 reps @ 115 lbs
-1 set x 5 reps @ 165 lbs, then holding it at the top as long as I can.

Practiced Handstand Holds/Walks:
I am getting much better at this! Maybe I can post a video by the end of my cycle.

Day 47 (August 27th, 2016)
I did 25 reps on my GHD before heading to the globo gym.

Incline Barbell Press:
-1 set x 5 reps @ 50 lbs (bar)
-1 set x 5 reps @ 70 lbs
-1 set x 5 reps @ 90 lbs
-1 set x 5 reps @ 100 lbs
-1 set x 5 reps @ 110 lbs

Practiced Handstand Holds/Walks

Arm Curls with DB:
-1 set x 15 reps at 10 lbs
-3 sets x 12 reps at 15 lbs

I did another set of 25 reps on my GHD when I got home.

Day 48 (August 28th, 2016)
Rest Day.

Great work!

Hi @Geterdun! I hope you had a nice vacation :) I believe it's the quadriceps tendon, not the muscle. I think I could have done 145 lbs bench press if I was fresh, MAYBE 150 lbs.

Very excited for you and your PR's! With all the way till the end on this log. Your dedication is truly motivational for me.

P.S. Vacation was great. Posted some pictures in OGH's food thread if you want to look. Just of all the food I pounded down... Weather was to bad for the Sunset pictures I wanted on Hubbard Lake.:)

Day 49 (August 29th, 2016)

Globo gym workout:
-Practiced handstand holds/walks
-3 sets x 5 reps of wide-grip pullups
-3 sets x 8 reps of bent over rows (35 lb DB, 45 lb DB, 50 lb DB)

Home workout:
-1 set of 50 sit ups on my GHD

Day 50 (August 30th, 2016)
DOCTOR APPOINTMENT (finally)!!
Good news! The x-rays shows no sign of tears, fractures or damage :)

Here were the results:
  • Ankle: the posterior tibialis tendon was extremely inflamed from too much jump roping. That’s my fault because I was practicing double unders every day straight for about 2-3 weeks without enough rest time for my ankles. My doctor says just like strength training, I need to build up to it in order to progress. He prescribed very strong anti-inflammatory medication. I need to take 1 capsule twice a day and I should be back to normal in about week.
  • Knee: the pain in my knee is patellofemorial pain syndrome - caused from having really tight quadriceps. Since my quads were really tight, my knee was taking the brunt of the weight in the workouts. My doctor told me stretching of the quadriceps a few times every day is the best treatment. I’ve stretched my legs the past couple of days and I already noticed less pain in my knee. I’m going to try a yoga class tomorrow after work because it will force me to stretch :)

Day 51 (August 31st, 2016)
I tested out my knee at globo gym today and it felt pretty good. The last time I did a lower body workout was August 23rd.

Globo gym workout:
Lift: Deadlift

-1 set x 5 reps @ 135 lbs.
-1 set x 3 reps @ 185 lbs.
-1 set x 2 reps @ 205 lbs.

Hammer Strength High Pulls machine
-1 sets x 12 reps @ 30 lbs.
-3 sets x 12 reps @ 40 lbs.

Practiced handstand hold/walks

CrossFit Workout:
Lift: Deadlift
1 x 5 reps @ 70 lbs.
1 x 5 reps @ 75 lbs.
1 x 5 reps @ 145 lbs.
1 x 4 reps @ 165 lbs.
1 x 4 reps @ 165 lbs.
1 x 2 reps @ 195 lbs.

WOD:
5 rounds –
7 Front Squats (65 lbs)
7 Push Jerk (65 lbs)
15 Box Jumps (20”)

Then go right into:
-400m Run
-Rest 30 sec
-400m Run

Record total time: 17:58

Notes:
  • My menstrual cycle was 1 week late this time. Normal flow :p
  • My appetite and body temperature are normal.
  • I believe the fall out of my hair follicles are normal.
  • Less appearance of acne on the face and hamstrings.

Just finished my anavar cycle, short and sweet. Hit some new PRs at my current weight but nothing new overall. Physique looks great, going to start some DBol bulking in a couple weeks! Hopefully all my injuries are gone by then

Glad you're hitting some new PRs and definitely gained a lot of muscle.

@Triton_ not taking away from any other log done on Meso and has absolutely nothing to do with this being a female log.;) (Teasing) For me, I find this log easy to follow, motivational to say the least and @Nova Skye is killing it! You going to log your Dbol run for everyone?

I haven't seen a Dbol log done from start to finish, with maybe a post monthly check in to document your ability to maintain your gains. Just a thought.

Sorry Nova, not hijacking your log doll.

Awesome! Congrats @Triton_ for hitting new PRs and achieving a great physique! Are you going to post a picture? :D You should take @Geterdun's advice and write a log about your next cycle. I would like to read about your experience with it too.
No need to apologize @Geterdun, you're not hijacking at all.

Day 52 (September 1st, 2016)
No globo gym workout today. I had to use my lunch break to pay rent. Blah!
