Was gonna get this one but my damn girl wanted a husky instead :(
You will prob be more happy with the husky than that dog if you guys are active and enjoy the outdoors, If you live in an apartment a husky would be a handful and that bully pup would be much more lazy/chill... lemme know if you ever shop bulldogs again I will help you anyway i can. I'm pretty well educated on pedigrees and know a lot of the big names, you should always read the pedigrees of potential dogs to get a better idea of what you are buying. Or rescuing is always a great option as long as you have the time/knowledge to work with an animal on behavioral corrections.

Yeah that's why she wanted the husky we love outdoors and adventures. Heard they overheat easily though and can escape easy. We will see!! I love bulldogs. Will def get one soon. And we were going to rescue this dog image.jpg
Only thing was it apparently kills any other animals it lives with and I have no clue how to fix that. Woulda been a steal tho!!

yea. They do overheat, they are not well bred most often. They breed them for big bodies, short legs, blocky heads, and color. Well and they breed them to try to make $$$. They are "show dogs"...you would want an American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, or a Dogo or something if you want high energy and prey drive.

At the point in that dog's life knowing it will attack other dog's, unless you are a professional it would be a large liability. Maybe if you were a single dog household in the country with lots of land to exercise. It's sad that dogs have to get euthanized but it's uneducated to say "don't buy a puppy rescue one" in ALL instances. The real problem is backyard breeders producing dogs from matings that had no business being bred. It's sad, but to fix the problem go after the wanna-be breeders and people that don't spay + neuter responsibly. There are plenty of good companion animals that make awesome pets, doesnt mean you need to breed them though without a history/pedigree.

I have some dog aggressive dogs, great with kids/people and dogs of the opposite sex. Great with dogs of the same sex if they are less "dominant" breeds, my bulldogs can work with other dogs (bay dogs) in a pack to run hogs. Can't be around other bulldogs same sex though. It's all in the breeding and early socialization of the bulldog with the pack. I could go on forever just start a thread if you guys wanna talk bulldogs.

@Ozzy619 frenchies are cool lil fuckers. Remind me of Stitch from that kids movie ;)

Haha stitch is an alien but looks just like my dog. Frenchie are cool, I need to spend more time training mine. I got him for my girl but I adopted the little guy. I do miss having big dogs. I grew up breeding rotties. My buddy has a dogo and a Staffordshire, both are great dogs and great around my kids. It's pretty sad the amount of terriers we have in shelters over here. Pisses me off when I see a ghetto ear cropping job.

NC has a long history of bulldogs so we have very knowledgeable vets. Within a short drive there is several vets with full surgical suites on site. My dogs get laser cropped under full anesthesia, monitor vitals while they are under, tape em up observe them overnight and send them home with Rx antibiotics/inflammatory drugs and pain pills. Pro Tip: use the breath-rite strips and cut them to the ear length to prop them up while they are setting. One on each edge on the inside and one on each edge on the outside ;)

try these Ozzy. They are grain free, packed with protein from pork liver. Smell like shit and are moist, come in a resealable bag. Your lil bulldog will go crazy for em. Remember to use them as a "training reward" not a treat. You do this....you get this. Only after they preform correctly. Use shit like pigs ears and rawhides for "treats". I carry a small climbing chalk bag on my belt from a carbiner full of these...works.

Nice. I'll have to try and find those. I get him a huge beef bone from the butchers, lasts him like a week. As far as training goes I'll have to put the time in. I've raised some smart ass dogs back in new Mexico when I was on the farm. Back there we did alot of tracking in the river bottoms. But for now I'm content with my dog just sitting and heeling.
