Last week I met with a posing/bodybuilding coach who is relatively local to me. Not much of a social media presence, but somebody who has enjoyed success over a number of years and who is now coaching and competing in Masters divisions. Got a good vibe off the guy - I'd been looking forward to this for quite a while, and the experience did not disappoint.

I set a goal for myself to train to get on stage in a few years for my fiftieth…got some massive strokes when the coach mentioned “…actually…maybe later this year". Never in a million years did I think I’d be aiming for this, but here we are. I really know NOTHING about any of it, just kinda thought it’d be a fun process to go through.

And after having met with the guy, I am so hooked LOL. Those poses were HARD. Suck it in, push it out, stand like this, turn like that. Oh, and do it in 4” heels, AND smile.
You’ve got this! Enjoy the process and the grind, you’ll exceed your own expectations.

Looking good sister, well done! It would be interesting to see the progress from there.

I went to my first posing class last weekend - three hours with the coach/instructor and a few other people. Mostly women but a couple of men as well. It was the most welcoming environment and it was great to talk to the other women (and men!).

I learned a LOT, and gained a TON of confidence. Yea I was unskilled at the poses, and man they are HARD. My back was sore for days and I'm 1000% committed to improving mobility and flexibility.

Everybody...EVERYBODY was sweating by the end. It was like doing isometrics for three hours in heels. I did it though. In heels, in a bikini, with strangers. I'll ALWAYS strut my stuff through the rest of my life after that, even if I never make it to the stage (but oh I will :cool: ).

Is he coaching posing only, or nutrition and training as well?

All of it. I'm too far away to work at his gym regularly, but the rest is there and when we have 1:1 I can get clarification as needed with tweaking stuff. Macros, calories, timelines, and training are provided. Training isn't spelled out in huge detail which I prefer; I want to take ownership over my program. Best of all he's good with me asking a lot of questions. Great vibe.
 
4E6656C1-9DF5-4D10-B46C-38B52E3B898E.webpMonth two check in a couple days ago. Black was last month; red is this month. Set some dates for a September debut. Refining my workout routine to three days lower and two days upper. This has been so fun; I can't wait to see it through to the stage.
