Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Maybe didn't quite go heavy enough? That kind of weight probably could have used some extra carbs in your system to get moving.

600x1, especially at your bodyweight, is still nothing to sneeze at. Good job.

I never really change my carb intake. Before last week i was just going to the gym straight from the gym with nothing. Now I'm doing two scoops of carb powder in Powerade.

It's really not good considering I pulled 600 at my second meet 16 months ago and pulled 606 at my third meet weighing 20lbs less last year. I guess that it was RPE 9 makes it a PR. Still I'm very unhappy and disappointed with myself for this.

Only things I can think is maybe that heavy block pull single over the weekend took a lot out of me. Also I'm wondering if this old 24k test I'm running is underdosed. Barely slept last night, too. Or maybe it was because i wasn't wearing my lucky deadlift shirt. Or maybe it was just an off day. Regardless it sucks and I feel like I've been wasting my time.

Also, weighed 221lbs

Hit 5x5 with 295 on double paused bench, which is a 5x5 PR by 20lbs over last week.

It looked smooth in the video...

Try and get the carbs in with some time to let them really get into your bloodstream.

Don't let it get to you though man, today wasn't the same as pulling in a meet. Off day and that's it. Rest up and eat up and back to it again next time.

Vid didn't load in my feed.
@Perrin Aybara don't stress it man, I think you're being to hard on yourself. Some days it's just like that, move on :) you're good

I didn't post it here actually, he watched it somewhere else. Also, thanks. I'm super hard on myself for stuff like this. I'll come back stronger soon.

Far from failure bro. 585 squat 405 bench 645 block pulls. That's not toy weights you're throwing around there. Time to reset.

Only 550 on the squat, but yeah, i guess some part of me knows it's big weight. Just doesn't seem impressive from my own point of view because I'm used to it.

I definitely understand the disappointment. But that will be your motivation. Failing at something is a teaching tool, that is meant for us to learn from in order to succeed/prosper. Those that don't learn, won't succeed.

Great thing is you have video feedback. You already have an idea that it was mentally where the lift went wrong.

And didn't you switch from sumo to conventional recently?

In a few months you'll be past 600 off cycle.

Definitely understand. That's a lot of weight brother. And that block pull the other day definitely wasn't light weight.

We achieve a goal and want more it's human nature. But you have to give yourself credit when credit is due. And your squat and bench was no regular Joe weight. The average man can't push, pull and squat those numbers.

I guess the average Joe can't deadlift my bench numbers. Yeah, we're our own worst critics.

I forgot to mention. Those essential enzymes pills work pretty good to get all those calories, carbs, fats and proteins digested.

I have to take two pills with meals or shakes high in calories, carbs and protein.

I assume they're similar to what I take... The effects seem to get better with time if you keep up with it. It's a beautiful feeling to eat a big steak dinner or something and walk away still feeling light and not like you're going to explode.

I put it to the test this morning. Work up a little later than usual. 6am Blue berry pancakes 5 scrambled eggs 3 slices of bacon and two sweet potatoes with a shake that had 60grams of protein between the Greek yogurt and whey, two bananas and peanut butter. I took one pill right before eating. Felt ok still a little bloated.

9am had a 1300 calorie shake 60 grams of protein over 200 grams of carbs 7grams of fat. I took 2 pills that meal and felt like I didn't even eat.

I was hungry by 11am And had two chicken Kabobs, grilled potatoes and olives. I love olives. No pills taken here this was rather light.

1pm felt hungry again this was my preworout meal two peanut butter sandwiches and a banana.

So far it's working like a charm. Just have to shit often. Lol.

That sounds like a dream come true. I always feel awful after I eat these days.
