Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

@Perrin Aybara any knee wrap recommendations? I'm getting to the point that I might be wearing them. Have a pair of Inzer Grippers but thinking of also getting the Lilliebridge Pioneers. I squat quite fast, but that might just be due to light weight :D

I really like the regular blue Slingshot wraps. They were my first pair. Tried a few others and ended up buying another new pair of the Slingshot ones. Get 50+ pounds out of them easily wrapping them myself. They have great rebound and go well with a fast squat style.

+2 on the slingshot wraps. I have the red world record wraps. I think they're basically the same thing but a different color. I've been wrapping myself and I'm guessing they're giving me probably a good 75lbs above what my sleeves give me.

Hell yeah Stormlight is definitely the "new" WoT. It's more accessible that's for sure.

Great progress, at what point do you recommend knee wraps? Weight wise.

I look at my knees, and they kind of buckle in. I hear this happens to people that were very overweight as kids. It makes me wanna take this into consideration .

I don't really recommend wraps, they're too much hassle to wrap for every set. Get knee sleeves.

I forgot to log Thursday, just did some overhead press and squats. Nothing special. I drove over 2000 miles from Monday to Thursday and I've walked over 16 miles in steps at work the last two days. Been a busy week.

Today:

Low bar squat 410x2, 430x2, 450x1, 410x1

Trap bar deadlift 505x3, 595x3, 700x3

Dumbbell glute bridges 140lbs plus bands for 3x30

Adductors and abductors with bands 3x20

Leaving for vacation tomorrow, got a cabin booked for five days. Still gonna hit the gym though. Might start something different next week.

Well, this gym I'm at today turned out to be a non lifter's gym. Not quite Planet Fitness, but not far from it. Bought a two day membership before checking it out. Doubt I bother coming back tomorrow. Can't get a worthwhile workout at a place like this.

Was gonna do trap bar, but this seems to be made for women and children and wouldn't hold more than four plates. Not in the mood for sets of 20-30 today. No chalk allowed for regular deadlift, so just doing some beltless high bar and probably calling it a day.

I think for the next couple months I'm gonna take a break from sumo deadlift and bench. Gonna focus on squat since I already took a couple months off of it. Overhead press instead of bench and trap bar instead of sumo deadlift.

Gonna treat squat like I did deadlift most of the year and focus on weak points. Secondary goals try to trap bar 800+ and maybe overhead press 245+.

How to Help Your Squat Catch Up With Your Deadlift • Stronger by Science

@theprodgicalson have you read this article? I read it a long time ago, but recently read it again because I'm wanting to work on my squat.

I feel like I may have come across it at some point in time. I'm really working on my squat mechanics right now. Even tho I'm doing high bar. I want to squat 600 in sleeves in 2019. I'm going to squat 600 next year, lol

It really drove home some points I needes reminded of. Thanks for posting it
