Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Once over 100 they suck getting set up

Moving forward I'm just doing 100's and going really slow and controlled. Might even do incline to make it challenging. Doing similar with the weighted dips this program calls for. I can do quite a bit, but in the past it always aggravated my shoulders and elbows.

Heard the same from others I know that the Govt pot is shitty and will still buy from there local guy

Yup. The other thing is all the street prices now have totally bottomed out because most people are just growing their own. In the area a really fresh ounce of product is being sold for approx $75-90. I don't smoke pot anymore but I wish this quality and pricing was around years ago when I did lol I remember all the dry garbage that was floating around like 12 years ago

It's nice to see your dedication and constant logging. Have you found since starting this thread it's helped to keep you on track and honest with maintaining your progress?

Now legal each adult can grow 4 plants so prices had to come down

Well, I was logging stuff for years in various notebooks and phone apps before this. I've lost track of most of my older stuff though. It's nice that this log is always accessible. It's helped in other ways. People have pointed out things in my programming I've missed and helped with form issues I've missed. Recommend assistance lifts and mobility stuff I wouldn't have thought of. It's nice to get outside perspectives you wouldn't normally have. I've also had a few people message me over the years and thank me for something reading this log helped them with, so it's nice if other people get something out of it too.

It does help with motivation though. I'm in a rural area where besides my gym partner that I got into powerlifting there's really nobody to talk about this stuff with. Nice to interact with like minded people here.

Oh yea, absolutely. I think it's better for people who do still use it though because they know exactly where it's coming from and healthier opposed to a dried out product from a questionable source

That's awesome. I actually didn't think about any of that in regards to having a permanent record and also opening yourself up to being positively critiqued.

I've been making my way through this thread and you've progressed well. Keep it up man.

Thanks, I'm planning on keeping this log going till I reach the goal in the title. Came really close last year. Hopefully make it happen this year and start a new log journeying towards international elite numbers.

When you reach your goals are you planning on doing this and competing in a serious capacity? Or are you doing it as something to challenge yourself and have fun with?

Probably doing a national meet at some point. I've done five regular meets over the last five years. Qualified for nationals a few times, just haven't done one yet. It's just a hobby I'm passionate about.

Short term I'm wanting to squat 550lbs, bench 440lbs, and deadlift 725lbs this year. And stay injury free. Long term 600ish squat, 450ish bench, and 750ish deadlift.

Might end up doing another meet sooner than planned. There's this strongest siblings contest going around various powerlifting pages on Facebook and Instagram. Deadline is July 31st. I took a screenshot and sent it to my younger brother the other day and he seemed really on board with it.

He's just been lifting off and on since high school doing typical bro splits. He's been back to lifting more on than off the last year and recently switched to P/P/L and been training more for strength. Based on some recent his recent sets and reps I think he's good for low to mid 500's on squat, low to mid 300's on bench, and mid 500's on deadlift.

I'm looking at meets between April and June. Hopefully can get over this injury and cruise a couple months and then do something like an 8 or 10 blast. Probably just test, var, HGH, and MK677 most likely. Really all I need to do is get the two third attempts I missed last meet and add the 25lbs on squat that was obviously there that day and I'm good for mid 1600's.

That sounds like a lot of fun actually.

My brother is a gear head too,
Still has a long way to go on deads, but one day would be a lot of fun to try it out

The way I read it, I thought you did 130s seated, lol. But yeah, I had an issue trying to get 120s up on a slight incline. I just stick to 90s-100s for inclines now... It’s even worse trying to get them overhead for seated presses, lol.

Did everything normally today, no back pain. Went ahead and did high bar on squats to take it easy on my back.

Haven't posted any training footage lately, so here's the second single with 335lbs on bench. Not moving as fast as I'd like, but not too bad for losing weight and not benching heavy lately.
