Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

NH is pretty good about taxes and what not, same with Texas. Still got their hands in our pockets to some degree. The best states as far as taxes go are the ones where nobody lives. Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, etc
Yes that's why I moved up here to NH. Got way too expensive for me down in CT and all those taxes there drove me batty. Even the property tax on a condo I used to own in CT got too much. Insurance for the car is also much cheaper in NH as it went from nearly $400 to just $94 a month. More money in my pocket too as earning a decent income at my current job.

Probably not as bad as NY. Honestly I don’t understand how anyone stays in those states. When I decided to leave CA, NH was on the list but job opportunities weren’t as good as Texas. I like the idea of a cooler climate but never really had to deal with the snow. They still do the liberty movements protests there? Seemed like a big thing 10 years ago

Our registration went from $101 to $151 this year. They doubled our fuel tax last year, just crossing any state border it's like $0.50 cheaper per gallon. Marlboros about $9 a pack now. One of the only good things is houses are still cheap to buy, although property taxes are high compared to nearby states.

Seems taxes go nowhere but up. Cigarettes here are $7 a pack, and I don't smoke though but my brother's gf does...and I subtly nag her about that lol.

Me either, but many I know do. They did legalize weed this year. I don't smoke it either though.
Only a matter of time before weed's legal in NH...I smoked it a good deal when I was a young man to fight depression and tamp down the migraines but haven't smoked it in a while since so I might do so again if it becomes legal here.

Red states are always the best, tax-wise. NY is brutal. I’m nearing 10k a year just for property tax.

Yes and no, Of course CA, NY, NJ,WA, IL are infested with government scum and socialism and high taxes. Its very clear that the region has nothing to do with it. In populous states that also happen to be Red like Texas, Florida, Virginia and so on taxes are typically lower than blue states of comparable population. However, Taxes are much higher than Alaska or Arizona or N Dakota, Idaho. I’m not sure on the reason but it seems to be a direst correlation between politics, populations and taxes. Obviously states with more people have more roads, more schools, more jails. More parks more buses, more social programs. They also have a lot more people to tax so in theory you’d think the extra people would cover it but Who the fuck knows.

That’s true too. I was actually surprised when I was looking at moving to TX, that prop taxes aren’t too far off from NY’s. But isn’t TX becoming more liberal, with all the CA people rushing there?

I will have to say yes and no. I see it’s just becoming more divided. Most of these California types are migrating to Austin or Houston. I guess it feels like home for them. Higher population density, higher taxes, gay pride events, higher crime high homeless, shitty traffic. The major cities in Texas only account for about 10 of 250 counties. Those rural or less populated counties aren’t going blue anytime soon and people that want Texas to stay Texas are digging their heels in.

Illinois is weird. It's a liberal state, but only something like 2-3 counties in the entire state are actually liberal. Where I am it's extremely conservative. Even democratic politicians are basically conservative. Pro gun, anti abortion, etc. Personally I consider myself moderate since both extremes stand for things I'm strongly against. Just interesting how things are here.

That’s Northern CA in a nutshell, even Sacramento where the capitol is more conservative than the other major cities. It’s crazy to me how SF and LA run the state. Texas isn’t like that. Austin is pretty much written off as hippies and college kids. I’d say DFW metro area is the biggest representation of how Texas really is on average. Then again there’s places like Laredo or El Paso that may as well be Mexico

Thats NY 100%. If NYC was cut off, NY would be one of the most conservative states. Upstate is a completely different world than NYC.

We have 5% fed tax and 7% prov tax, 12% transfer tax. Cigs 15 a pack, Copenhagen 34 a can, gas if my conversion is right 6 a gallon... EDIT they just implemented 20% prov tax on vape products

My smokes are 18 a pack....
Most of which is taxes.

If you go to a native reserve, you can pick then up for 60 a carton (Produced by the same manufacturer)

The best thing about this area is how cheap houses are. Your middle of the road 2-3 bedroom houses are $25k-50k. You can find a fixer upper for under $10k and get a really nice place for $100k+.

Same here, Southern Illinois a completely different world than up north. We're more like rural Kentucky or Tennessee here.

That's insane. Our gas is $2.50-2.75 a gallon here right now and that's too much. Missouri was low $2s last time I was there. Cigarettes in Missouri are $5-6 a pack for name brands.
