Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

LOL

PA doesnt fuck around with keeping his Total up.
I'm laughing my ass off, picturing you driving around town on your phone grabbing gym equipment so you dont have to miss a workout.

Fuxking dedication brother

Well, they're saying a few weeks minimum, but some people are thinking months. A few hundred bucks for peace of mind and something I was gonna buy someday anyway. Plus with this new job and more hours it'll be convenient to lift at home sometimes anyway.

I’m just in awe of the 220lbs of plates for free lol.

From a family member actually. The plates have been sitting out in their yard for probably a decade. I got the bench home and I don't think there's any hope for it. It's in horrible shape. Oh well, the plates and bar were still worth it for free.

Bet a squat and deadlift bar is in the cards too @Perrin Aybara .

Already own a deadlift bar and SSB.

Last gym workout for awhile. Stayed up till 6am this morning to get on my new schedule for work next week. Wanted to sleep till 2pm, but the hunger became unbearable and I got up at noon. So feeling kinda shitty today on six hours of sleep. Tomorrow should be better.

Still on my quest to find some plates. A guy at my gym has about 400lbs in bumpers and no rack, so we may combine our equipment for the meantime so we can continue training.

I’m utilizing this time to get some much needed conditioning in, lol. Who knows, by the time the gym opens again I may be used to cardio.

It's a good time for cutting. I wish I was and I wouldn't worry about getting much more equipment. I'd just do high rep front squats, bench, and overhead press, and take time off deadlift or just go light or maybe just belt squat

Im in the same boat. All the gyms here are closed. I cleaned out and re organized my garage. Bought some used equipment from a local powerlifting manufacturing company. Built a deadlift platform. Can’t find any fucking plates

Same here. As far as craigslist and Facebook swap I'm seeing stuff like two 25's for like $40-50 two hours away. There's one guy locally that's got some Olympic plates, but he's only selling as a package with a bunch of 1" plates and junk I don't need for a grand.

Best deal I've found is that local company I was talking about. They told me they could do a dollar a pound on plates. If it comes down to it I might pick up 400lbs from them to go with the 220lbs or so I've got and just keep focusing on conventional awhile.

My area is exactly the same with buying weights and bars.
I got a pretty fucking sweet set up tbh. I couldn’t get the guy to sell me any plates though.
I even asked someone from the gym if I could just borrow plates and I’d let people come over and lift at my place free. Just so some members could train at least. I’ll put up some pics in my thread

I flew in late monday night and started hunting CL, FB, new equipment whatever couldnt find shit. Expanded my area to a 5hr radius ended up just pulling the trigger on a new setup. It was an arm and a leg but I wasnt willing to go without...spent the next 2 days driving around for plates finally got a decent amount. Spent all day moving shit around and assembling, overall though given the situation I'm happy with my investment thus far. I have some strongman equipment out at the farm but I may try some DIY concrete forms for fun...

think i need to anchor this fucker. I keep having a vision of dumping the rack and actually needing serious medical care...prob better if I dont go down right now.

Nice, one of my acquaintances who's into concrete construction made his own molds for Atlas stones and made several sizes out of concrete. Sounds fun using the stones you cast from molds.

Oh going strongman? That's gonna be killer!

Seems like even mundane weights to use at home are getting hard to find. So much panic buying of gym equipment as well just like with toilet paper and sanitizer.

Yeah, it's an investment for sure. It's all stuff I would've bought eventually anyway. Even when this is all over it'll be nice to have the option to just train at home.

I just drove 40 minutes each way to look at a bench and some plates and turned out they were 1" plates. In the pic they looked Olympic. So taking today off and continuing my search tomorrow. Worst case I'll have to suck it up and pay a dollar a pound from a local place.

I feel pretty shitty anyway trying to adjust to this new schedule for this job I start tomorrow. Only slept 5.5-6 hours the last two nights and really starting to feel pretty rough today. I've been going to bed at 6am and wanting to sleep till 2pm, but I'm so used to eating during that time the hunger gets so intense I can't sleep. Feels like my stomach is turning inside out. Hopefully I'll get used to it as I get used to eating and sleeping on this schedule.

Just scored a couple hundred pounds and a nice bar as a loan form a buddy. Driving about 4 hours out of town for work, loaded up

Starting the same mission as you guys, as long as they have in stock can get rack, bench, 600lbs, bar, ssb, mats about 1600 new. Cheap stuff but better than no stuff if my gym closes and the fire hall gym closes. Just need to make sure I can get it soon and have the cash

I took about $800 out the other day for an equipment fund. I already have quite a bit of stuff though. I'm $300 down on this rack. If I have to I'll buy those plates for $1 pound in the amount of 450lbs and pick up a cheap bench and I'll be good to go. I'll most likely just restart Sheiko and run the prep cycles again with slightly higher training maxes.
