325lbs for 8x4

Really solid day, even the last set was no more than RPE 6. Pretty surprised with getting so little sleep this week. Guess the gear is finally kicking in. I did stop for some breakfast pizza and a Body Armor drink after my last stop at work this morning. Knew I wasn't getting home till 9am and figured the next best thing to a night's sleep was pizza.

Got 345lbs for 10x3 bench this Sunday. Bodyweight 225lbs when I got up today. Even though it's masked by being constantly tired I think I'm stronger now than when I ran Smolov. I remember struggling hard to finish 10x3 with 330-335lbs.
 
Bench 290x6x6

Was supposed to be 295lbs, but I don't have the right plates to make 295lbs. It was either 290lbs or 305lbs.

My right pec was feeling really tight last night, so I dug into it with a screwdriver handle for awhile and then put a TENS unit on it. Seemed to help. Still the back to back bench days are a little unpleasant feeling on the second day.

The back to back days is the flaw to Smolov. It starts to wear on you and cause discomfort over time. It’s not that the load is unmanageable, so much as the tightness like you said. On the 2nd day, I’m always lowering the bar to my chest and expecting a pop or boing. Not exactly fun.

Yeah, I get something similar lowering the bar. Unpleasant feeling for sure. I can't imagine doing the heavy days back to back. I'm glad this is the last week before the deload and max.
 
Bench 315lbs for 7x5

Felt really heavy today. 315lbs today felt heavier than 345lbs did on Sunday. Along with not having enough time to get enough sleep this week I've noticed a decline in sleep quality the last few days. Resting heart rate has gone up and I think it's hurting my sleep. Hit a wall on eating too. Might just be related to being so tired, being tired kills my appetite.

I'll be glad when this blast to be over. Just two more workouts, deload next week, and max next weekend. Not necessarily a bad sign the weight felt heavy today. Last Smolov run the weights started feeling crazy heavy the last week and after the deload strength was way up.

These felt really hard, but looking at videos they moved okay. I think it's just my delts and shoulders are feeling so beat up so beat up it feels harder than it is. Gonna take some halo and ibuprofen for Sunday's session of 355x10x3.

Unfortunately have failed miserably on eating enough this week and have fallen back below 220lbs. Gonna pick up some easy to eat junk at the store this weekend and get the calories by any means necessary next week before maxing.

Now that is some nice volume! Hopefully the anti inflammatory helps out, and definitely that halo as well. Your logs are keeping me accountable.
 
Halo is glorious. Hits within 90-120 min. Extra aggression, focus and determination. Making PR’s pretty much a sure thing, removes all doubt from your mind. Imo it’s like High test in pill form and it doesn’t take 6 weeks to hit and it out of your system by the next morning. 10 mg is a great pr dose. 10-20 was good for a meet from my experience

I really like halo. It doesn't make me amped up like some people, but I'm super focused. I've only ran it preworkout, but I'm going to try running ED for the last 2 weeks of this cycle.
