Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

425lbs bench and 675lbs deadlift would actually be small meet PRs, just not gym PRs. It's not a sanctioned meet anyway though. I just want to step on a platform this year.

Same here. Should technically squeak out small meet PRs, but it's just not the same when you've lifted more in the gym before.

By the way, that's actually a little side goal I have is an 1,100lbs push/pull. 1,200 would be cooler though. Ha.

Mine too. Came up just a little shy at that push pull meet I did a couple years ago. Going by gym lifts I'm at 1140lbs.

@Perrin Aybara your 2nd and third attempts are based on feeling ?

Usually just my third.

First is something I can hit 3-4 reps with
Second is something I can hit for a double
Third usually a PR and go by feel of the second

I usually have a general idea months in advance what I want my attempts to be and work towards that. Of course you never really know how you'll feel on meet day though.

REEBOOOKKKS?? cmon perrin :(

Otherwise, amazing as always ! I guess you can do 600 lbs low bar easily can't you?

I am doing BB 3 times a week with a moderate volume and high int (min 80%) and still stuck in 375lbs. What helped you the most for your BB?

I doubt that much on low bar. In the past only I've been about 5% stronger on low bar than high bar.

3-4x a week frequency, high volume, and low intensity helps my bench the most. I'm trying out a higher intensity with more accessories approach currently to see if it works.

Got a good deal on the shoes.
