Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

That’s definitely not good. Might do you some good to take a week or two off dead’s and switch back to conventional for a bit?

Possibly. I'm gonna take this week off lower body and reevaluate next week. See how squats feel and maybe do belt squats in place of deads. If it's as bad as it was I'll be back off lower body completely for awhile. If that's the case I'll be doing conventional again once I'm able.

Pretty disappointing. This is by far the strongest I've ever been off blast. Before the pain kicked in I was thinking big numbers when I did do a real blast again.

I don't know. I'm leaning towards cutting if I'm gonna be injured awhile. I'm getting sick to death of eating. Reaching that point where I'm hating food and almost puking trying to choke all these calories down.

Is it all clean calories? I can’t imagine eating more than 4k daily if some of it isn’t dirty

MAZAL TOVVV Perrin! great numbers.

I use to suffer like you after doing deads and squats due to my stiff hips. I started doing forward leg swings before any warmup and it was a miracle. That was an advice from Seb Oreb (Australian strength coach) btw.

I'm thinking my hip may be fucked again. It feels just like last time. Pain just from walking and very stiff and immobile. Fingers crossed I just wake up fine tomorrow. Weird I didn't feel it during any lifts and it crept up on me after.

If it's as bad as last time I'll be off deadlift and back squat a few months again. Not sure if I wanna stay fat and keep progressing bench or cut back down to a reasonable bodyfat again.
Bet the meet really took a lot and you didn't realize it.

Yeah, I'm going to have to figure something out. For now I'll just have to take the next few months off deadlift and hopefully less time off back squat. Haven't decided if I should just cut down or keep focusing on bench only. Pain is pretty bad still this morning and work is going to suck.

30 minutes incline treadmill

Bench
330lbs for 4x5

Hip still hurts pretty bad and now having some moderate elbow issues. Probably should've just took it easy this week.

Leaning more towards cutting about 20lbs just having some reservations about my bench going down after finally getting it moving up again. But I did hit 440x1 at 10+ pounds lighter than current weight.

Good evening Perrin. Just watched that 600 for 3 video you posted awhile back. Absolute smoke show. From the looks of it you could’ve beat your best of 7. Deadlift was always my favorite lift and my best.

Same here. Deadlift is my best lift followed by bench. I hit 675lbs at a local gym push pull on Sunday, maybe had 5-10lbs more. Best ever was 700lbs in the gym.

I think I've pretty well decided I'm going to cut some weight since I'm injured anyway. Going by how it feels now and how it felt the last couple times I hurt my hip I'll be off sumo deadlift for a couple months minimum and back squat for a few weeks to a month. Part of me wants to keep permabulking for bench, but I'm the highest bodyfat I've been since my first cycle and can't really justify it.

Got three kits of Mauve Tops I've had lying around I'll throw in at 2iu a day. Just stay with the 150mg of test cruise and maybe throw in low dose var here and there throughout to minimize strength loss during the cut.

Typical mostly clean diet. 12 hour eating window to start out with to be somewhat fasted for before bed HGH dosing. If I can find a cheap piece of used cardio equipment soon I'll add some fasted cardio in with an extra 2iu of HGH on those days.

Definitely need to get more sleep. With the extra hours at work and having to get up by 3pm on gym days it's made it hard to sleep past 3pm on off days and I've been ending up only getting around 6 hours of sleep lately.

Training wise I'll try front squatting first and either belt squat for deadlift or maybe trap bar or conventional depending on how my hip feels. More cardio for sure and maybe yoke carries and farmers carries.

Thoughts? Or should I continue bulking to the moon and try to bench 500lbs?

I’d continue bulking to hit the 500 if you feel healthy. I’d work on my bench, back and triceps. Let your lower body heal completely and then start training all 3 lifts again.

do you incorporate a lot of leg drive? I never fully did, I’d always lift my ass off the bench

A nice little bulk is excellent for healing.
I'd definitely throw a few lbs on and give your body what it needs to heal effectively.
More importantly, Bigger bench = Better

Bulk up like Michelin Man and then land that 500+ bench :)

You’re on the right track. If you’re not able to train hard on at least 2 lifts why eat the extra calories to bulk. I have a lot of trouble with calorie deficit when I’m training hard. Recovery is trash, Energy is trash etc. so since you can’t push it(might be a sign your body needs a rest) may as well try to drop some bf

Some, but I'm not great with leg drive.

I want to and my training partner says bulk. I don't know, I don't feel great at this weight. Might not be so much the weight, but the kinds of food I'm having to eat to keep this weight on. I wasn't thinking about cutting to sub 200lbs. I weighed 231lbs just now and was just looking to go down to 215lbs-220lbs.

Mostly just worried about the health aspect of being heavier. My resting heart rate has went from low to mid 60's to around 70 since putting on the extra weight. Maybe if I could actually get motivated to do some cardio I might feel better at the heavier weight. Could be partially the lack of sleep too. I've only been averaging 6 hours lately rather than the 7-8 I'm used to.
