Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

I swear if you see my chicken legs and my struggle you wouldn t say that LOOOL.

Now time to learn from your exp some tips about BB :P (high int with acc OR high volume, high freq and low int)

High bar squat
405x3x3

Paused bench
365x1, 385x1, 405x1
Was hoping for RPE 9, but was more like 10. I think mostly because the bench volume from Monday.

Barbell rows
135lbs for 4x8

Some reverse hypers

The bench should have been easier, but on the bright side this is the first time I've benched 405lbs just on a random gym day and not during a peak or at a meet.

I watch your workouts lately and you seem to be doing a lot of low rep, high weight. Is this because of your mini meet coming up or is it just your current block?

I've just been following my new training partner's routine. The owner of the gym does his programming. Seems like they focus more on heavier weight and lower volume than what I'm used to. I'm going to deload next week for the meet.

Constantly or in blocks?

How many weeks in are you with this block? How often do you typically deload

I've only been working out with this guy for a few weeks. Honestly part of it is my last program wasn't working for me and I don't want to go back to doing my own programming right now and the other is I've never worked out with someone as strong or stronger than me and that's pretty motivating. Whether this programming will work out for me is yet to be seen. His setup on which days he does each lift is basically identical to what I'm used to, so worst case I end up doing my own sets and reps again, but we still train the lifts together.

I usually take a full deload every 8-12 weeks depending how I'm feeling. I'll deload upper or lower body only sometimes as needed like if I'm feeling beat up. Always deload the week of a meet and before starting a blast and usually before starting a new program.

Pretty happy with it for only being on 150mg a week of test with three weeks of 20mg a day of var. No peaking, just a deload week and go.

Missed best lifter by 3 wilks points. Kinda pissed I had such a big cheat meal last night because I woke up 233lbs yesterday and was 237-238lbs today. Would've had it if I was just a little lighter.

Noticing a little hip and lower back pain now that the meet is over. Didn't feel any discomfort while doing my lifts, so hopefully it's nothing serious. Wasn't planning on a deload, but I think I will now for lower body followed by a fairly light week.

I'm thinking my hip may be fucked again. It feels just like last time. Pain just from walking and very stiff and immobile. Fingers crossed I just wake up fine tomorrow. Weird I didn't feel it during any lifts and it crept up on me after.

If it's as bad as last time I'll be off deadlift and back squat a few months again. Not sure if I wanna stay fat and keep progressing bench or cut back down to a reasonable bodyfat again.
