Progress/training log part 2:getting beary serious

Just got done with monday workout

1.squat 5x5 215lb
2.flat bench 4x8 165lb
3.deadlift 3x5 290lb
4.BTN press 3x8 80lb
5.shrugs 4x12 225lb
6.DB preacher curls 3x12 25lb

First day at the new gym. Wasnt too bad, had to do my warmup and stretching outside cuz there is just no room inside but thats ok. Wasnt that many people there early in the morning. One good thing is they have round plates instead of the hex plates which makes deadlifts much easier. And super thin plates, so they seem more like the plates they use in a competition. A bad thing is they dont have squat bars with the knurling (sp) in the center so gotta be careful so that fucker doesn't slide around.

4.tri pushdown 3x8 180lb*
5.cable low to high 3x12 50lb*
6.rear delt flys 3x12 20lb
7.side laterals 3x10 20lb

*these two areas on the cable machine are about half as heavy as my old gym thats why the weight is higher.

Good workout, saw some stupid shit today though. Full body curls (video coming soon) guys in tights doing 1/4 reps on the leg press with 10 plates on each side, quarter squats with 185. Had to repeat the mantra "dont say anything...its not my problem. Dont say anything....its not my problem" lol

When I was in high school me and my cousin used to play a game were we'd go to Walmart at 2am and talk to strangers. Felt goooooood today, felt big, i felt skrong!! Everything was moving easy.

Fuuuuckin headphones went out on me today :confused: had to listen to this chick and this beta dude wearing gloves talk about zinc and elder berries and fuckin cider vinnegar for like 30 minutes while i was doing the last half of my squats and all through my overhead presses. Is that how "fit" people flirt? The conversation sounded so awkward hahaha. I was pretty close.to just being like "look guys, can you go do this somewhere else or atleast talk about simething thay doesnt suck?".

Idk how people take like 15 minutes between sets to just talk, dont they get all cold and locked up and shit?

Helped some skinny dudes on their squats a little bit, there knees was caving in like cray so gave them some pointers about forcing dem dere knees out. My good deed for the day.

I'm excited to see what kind of style your bringing with those bad boys cause there's been a lot of talk up hopefully they don't let ya down on style points. Chucks are solid for deadlifts I'm currently contemplating using chucks for my meet next week and I have 2 shoes just for deadlifting but the chucks are feeling more natural to me right now to lift in

Hahaha we shall see. Im probably the least stylish person in the world, so they will probably look like shit to everyone else, but as long as they look like i envisioned i will bebhappy and thats all that matters :D hahaha but hopefully everyone will think they are cool and, in turn, think im cool!
 
Im more curious to see what they feel like, ive never actually worn converse before so it should be interesting. Hell though if you put enough faith in em to consider them over a shoe specifically built for deadlifts theu cant be too bad.

I like mine. They make your feet feel really flat and solid. Really seem to grab the floor good too.

People will stare at them though. Cheap ass Chuck's you be wearin' instead of the latest Nike or UA cross-run-super trainers.[emoji16]

Man the way I've trained you know when there's a guy with chucks on his feat and chalk on his hands he ain't nothing to laugh at. All the strongest guys in the world have worn chucks at one point or another in their lifting career no if ands or buts on that its a fact that doesn't need to be checked up on its just known:D
 
Lol I don't wear anything fancy. Found some athletic shorts on Amazon I love for only 6 bucks a pair, and I wear old raggedy muscle shirts.

I sweat like a pig, so the less I have on the better off I am. No way I could wear sweats.
 
Im super fancy. I wear a tuxedo to DL. And my DL shoes cost $500. They actually only cost $15 but I refused to pay less than $500...took a lot of haggling. Also I don't use chalk. Way too low brow. Only crushed diamonds for this fella.
[emoji23] My wife calls where we go more of a "designer gym". Lots of people more worried about looking good than their workouts. She's calls one guy 5 minute fitness, cuz that's all the longer he's there. Put it this way, it won't be long and I'll be one of the strongest guys there, and I lift like a school girl compared to most of you guys lol.
