Thanks bro, im excited to see how they shape out as i get leaner. Sucks youngot thay injury, i cant imagine not being able to go balls to the wall training legs.

Vietnamese is bomb though, enjoy it, and your scotch

Gonna follow up on the viet eating. Even though it was all skewers and salad rolls I feel like ass haha. Popping 500mg potassium and drinking water the rest of the night.... And then my one scotch when I feel better.

Again keep the log going man. And yes, not going balls to the wall when you used to squat 550 for reps is tough. When I first starting squatting again I started at 95lbs. Demoralizing as fuck but ego gets checked at the door every gym time. Has to so then down the road you look at what you can do then and the smart decision to go slow getting there. Looking forward to seeing some big numbers from you man

Yeah ima keep at it man, one day hopefully i'll make all you strong mofos proud hahha.

Just finished workout.

1.squat 5x5 235lb
2.bench 3x8 185lb
3.deadlift 3x5 335lb
4.btn press 3x8 95lb
5.shrugs 3x10 225lb 2x20 135lb
6.side laterals 3x12 30lb
7.seated calf raise 4x15 2 plates

Good workout. Owner cane up after my 2nd set of deads and asked me to lower the weights lighter, and also told me that i cant use chalk in there because it hurts the bars....i asked if i brought my own bar in would it be ok and he said no. Didnt argue with him, he seems like a nice guy, but you can tell that he isnt a lifter like most of the people in this fuckin gym. So.....idk...anyone have any suggestions or anything about a reasonable replacement for chalk?

Also weighed in at 271.2 today so down another couple pounds. Go me lol.

Man that killed my momentum today. All i could think about the rest of the workout was what im gonna do about this gym situation. Was thinking about a cheap squat rack and bench and some weights but i dont really have anywhere to put it, and i dont really have money for it either.

If it's a 24hr gym maybe you could start going at night or early mornings. You dont have to deal with any ignorant ass shit if your the only one there.

They do have 24 hour access option. But at the moment im a slave to the bus schedule so i can only get there during staffed hours. Untill i can get my license anyways which im teying but im stuck in this fucked up cycle of needing a better job to get my license shit straightened out, but i need to have my license to get a better job lol.

Just bring a hard bristle brush with you and scrub the bar when you are done and tell him that's better for the bar then the oil on people's hands and eliminates he chalk afterwards restoring the bar to its normal knurling. If he has an argument with that then tell him he's straight up retarded and doesn't know how to properly take care of the equipment and you'd appreciate your money back because his facility doesn't represent what you thought you were paying for. Bring a mic in with you cause you gonna have to drop it after.

Hahahaha dude there is nothing more i would like to do than have that exact fucking conversation. Unfortunately i cant leave the only gym in town because if I can't lift it's going to lead to some serious fuckin depression, getting to go work out is pretty much the only thing holding me together right now haha.

Maybe i will do some research on bar maintenance and stuff like you said and sit him down and talk about it and offer to do that and maybe even buy a couple of mini handheld vacuums for cleaning up chalk mess and whatnot. I mean if he is any sort of a reasonable person he cant say no to that.

Well ive been compiling a bunch of shit about bar care and everything ao i just gotta go get use a computer and put it all into a neat little pamphlet, also I contacted rogue fitness (all the bars are rogue bars) and asked them if they could issue me some sort of statement confirming that chalk use wont hurt the bar as long as its cleaned regularly so hopwfully they will do that for me. Cuz i mean....if the people who make the bars say its not gonna hurt them how the fuck can he argue that? Lol

How is chalk going to hurt the bar?
He's just a shit talker.

Gym owners should want you there as inspiration, man!

Ask him to get a little deadlifting area with more padding together. . . And then everyone is a winner.

Shit like this made me build my own gym.
It was only £500 if the wife asks.
In reality... Six to seven times that, lol.

Thats what im screamin. I should not have to do this, shouldnt be an issue. Thats another thing im going to offer to purchase a couple of those industrial horse stall matts they use on farms for a little deadlift section.

I feel like as the only gym in the area they have somewhat of a fuckin obligation to be welcoming to all styles of lifters, not just casual lifters who want to jump on the fucking stairmaster for 10 minutes and do a couple sets of bicep curls.

I dont see how he could say no to this. Its all coming out of my shallow pockets and ot will make the gym better for everyone.

Shit i wish i could get my own setup. The cheapest shit i could find im looking at 5-7 hundred for a cheap power stand, bench, barbell and 4 sets of 45's a set of 25's 2 sets of 10's 1 set of 5's and a set of 2.5's

Price the stall mats before you offer to buy any. They're right at $100 a piece where I live.
