Progress/training log part 3: Operation retard strengthstrength

Solid return to squats with sone actual weight tonight.

1.squats 3x5 7.5RPE 315lb, was scared I was gonna come back weAK but honestly 315lb has never moved that easy before. Felt like I could have cranked out 10+

2.comp bench 6x2 8rpe 2 sets 225 4 sets 205

3.incline DB press 4 sets 70x10 90x8 100x4 60x15

4.incline DB fly 4x12 40lb

Good night, back is feeling terrific, fuck yeah.
 
Pretty good session

1.deadlifts worked up to my opener for 3 singles at 475lb moved easy peasy

2.lat pull down 6x6 160lb

3.upright rows 4x8 75lb

4.lateral raises 3x12 20lb

5.Arnold press 4x8 40lb

6.BB shrugs 4x16 225lb

Pulled those singles easy peasy, back is feeling just fine, good and strong.

I'm jelouse as fuck of you right now and would give almost anything to be able to stay healthy enough to compete, even if I came in last! You know where you're at and you've had a great coaching group guiding you. I wish you the best man. I hope you have a seriously fun time above everything else and obviously a few PRs would be cool, too!

I'm assuming your better half is going? She have the bug in her? Any competitions in her future?

Thanks icky, I appreciate that man, just doin what I have come to love though. Which, of course, is lofting heavy weights and conversing with Internet strangers because making friends in real life work is exhausting [emoji14] hahaha

Hope you are able to get to a point where you can go throw down on the platform at some point. I hear it's fuckin fun as shit, I will let you know haha. But I anticipate having a good time, it's gonna be nice taking the little trip to the meet, staying in a somewhat nice hotel and shit and making a weekend of it.


Yes the little woman is coming for sure most definitely. She has come to really enjoy lifting now that she is seeing the results from it, and she is even getting quite strong.

Don't think she will compete, she is kind of shy and I don't think I could get her onto a platform to lift in front of a room full of people.

However, once we get back into town before we start our deload week I am going to have a day where we go in the gym and have her do a mock meet/max out day on her lifts so she can see how much stronger she has gotten.

She has been in there every night with me even after working all day, 3 hour long sessions killing it and never ever complains. She has been running the same routine as me just adjusted to her strength level so she has been putting in some serious work and deserves the pleasure of hitting some nice big singles as much or more than I do haha
 
Great meet. Went 8/9 missed last bench attempt.

Squat 385lb bench 235lb deadlift 507lb so all time pr's across the board for me at this body weight. Got bronze in my weight class which was pretty cool, didn't expect to place. Great time all around, had my girl with me, the coach was in the building. Fuckin awesome day, awesome time. Will definitely be competing again but not for awhile.

I need to focus on getting stronger, there were too many people who were stronger than me haha. Defintely going to be focusing largely on bench ress this year lol

Haven't lifted since the meet, took a few days off after the meet obviously, then just got sick as fuck.

Feel like shit, no energy, just been slugging it out through work and sleeping when I get home.

Eating too much comfort food. Probably gained 100lbs and R.I.P gains


Gonna force myself in there on Saturday regardless of how I feel and get back to it.

Finally back in there today. Punished myself with some high rep deadlifts

1.deadlift 3x8 405lb 8RPE
2.bent over rows 4x10 315lb
3.super set barbell curls with rope pushdowns
4.DB curls ss close grip bench

Lol absolutely miserable doing those deadlifts, felt like puking but happy to see that I didn't seem to lose much, felt pretty strong. Yeehaw
