Telmisartan

I’m going to start including Telmisartan as a daily regiment at 40mg. Should there be any concerns with conflicting supplements? I take 1.2g of red yeast rice/day along with other vitamins and minerals. All are otc
No, its fine to combine them.

well this is a bit confusing to me... everyone is on the telmisartan bandwagon but it seems that it can have some unwanted outcomes in some people as stated in a thread by @Type-IIx
It is not a panacea and should be used with caution...
Thread 'Telmisartan and ARBs/ACE inhibitors are not a preventive cure-all for AAS users' Telmisartan and ARBs/ACE inhibitors are not a preventive cure-all for AAS users
Should read a little more into his article about using it prophylactically.

It is a fairly mild blood pressure medication but if you monitor it properly you should be fine. Meaning blood work prior to starting and during.

yeah you !should! be fine using it I was not implying otherwise, but I've seen many a posts where a compound is touted and the downsides are downplayed and it gives a false impresion of safety to a new guy.
Even tren posts sometimes go like that.... "at x mg/week you won't have any sides etc." when in fact most might be fine but there is that odd chance you will get liver failure or kidney issues because you have some weird genetic predisposition...

I use it for 3 years now(80mg) no side effects for me .
And yes caution is advised with everything in life .

yeah I am on 5mg cialis and that keeps my bp around the 120 mark on blast, and I started this practice before I was better informed on the matter and also because I liked the granite boners it gave me... but am now reevaluating that decision as taking cialis long term is basically off label and who knows what sides effects it could have....

oh and I am one of those that has lower BP on a sports cruise 200-275mg test than at base test level 800ng... as I understand it has something to do with estrogen dilating the blood vessels...mind you my natural BP has always been high 125-130... and it drops to under 120 on test and around 110 with cialis in the mix...

Relax. Telmisartan is one of the safest drug ever created. Look up the studies - it's side effect profile was similar to the placebo group which in fact makes it very safe.
Start low and slowly titrate up over time (weeks). It's blood pressure lowering effect is kinda weak but thats not the main point to take it imho, it does have a lot of other benefits besides that.

For first time users is starting at 40mg/day ok or should one start at 20mg for a couple weeks then up to 40mg?

From what I understand coming off is where you’ll want to drop it 1/4 at a time for 2 weeks and not stop cold turkey.

For sure with any BP med you can't just stop cold turkey. Consult a cardiologist.

Hey everyone, I’ve been in the game for a while now but I’ve just recently started to become more health conscious and thinking about longevity. (Better late then never right lol), I just got my hands on a good amount of Telmisartan raws and I was wondering, if any of you guys could school me on the “cardiac remodeling” benefits, and basically what it has done for you/your experiences. Feel free to add dosing and protocols that have worked for you. Thanks dudes
I take 40 mg in the am and my blood pressure has dropped to a healthy range from before. I also introduced 10 mg of Nebivolol in the am and its gotten even better, along with slowing down my heart rate. I use 5 mg of TB500 per week for heart health also...

For anyone reading this: please do not start right away with 10mg! With beta blockers and most bp meds start low, take your time, slowly titrate up over time (several days to weeks). Most modern bp meds are literally side effect free if you give your body time to adjust to the new blood pressure and/or heart rate adjustment.

I started at 5 mg for 2 months then increased to 10 mg for a few reasons, and content there.
