I had a discussion with Dr. Jim a while back about the different absorption rates of different muscle groups. Like OGH said Glutes have the best transfer rate with quads coming in second.
Delts in particular and any upper body muscle group have the slowest absorption rates. Which could in effect double the half life.
The answer I was given as to why this is, was that it has to do with the amount of blood being moved through the muscles. Glutes and quads have larger amounts of blood being moved through them and that they are seldom in a static state (at rest) compared to other muscles, while delts have less blood flow and are more often in a static state of rest.
