What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

Yep! I'm still turkey drunk myself. Wish I could of got some pictures but we have a rule in my family, ''No phones while eating". I'm blessed to come from a big southern family. I moved two hours from them some years back and on my drive out there yesterday morning it really hit me how lucky I am to have such a family and how one day I will wish for this time back.

Hope everyone had a good one as I did.

Phones and shoes stay by the door. If you need to use your phone go out of the house. Simple.

Am sure most you people sit on your phone all the time. It's a nervous habit to need constant visual stimulation.

This Swedish dish 'sallat' goes back in my family 4+ generations. Can't even find the recipe online which is pretty cool, I come from a place far north in Sweden. So the bottom is beets, carrots and potatoes mashed together and then some heavy cream is whipped on top. With slices of eggs and parsley.

I make another dish called Janssons frestelse too which is similar to a potato gratin with anchovies.
 
A question or two about the stew, why put the beef in flour before frying?
Would you do the same with other cuts of meat or only beef?

Zucchini, any particular reason for it or you just like it?
Not sure why the flour. Pops taught me to make it and that's how he showed me to do it. It's called dredging. As for the zucchini I got sick if broccoli and decided to switch it up. Put a little tony charchare creole seasoning on there and bake easy and delicious. The main reason for the zucchini is it's easy to prepare

Hmm okay, maybe to get a crispier surface with the flour. Or so it doesn't shred apart in the stew?

Ah okay gotcha, zucchini is mainly just throw in the oven with some spices right?
 
Thought I saw a some carbs and a dessert from a couple days ago? Or are you just doing some occasional refeeds and today is the last day of that diet cycle?

Ya, I’ve been cutting hard so I used thanksgiving as a refeed (although more “dirty” than a typical refeed). It worked quite well though. I’ll update this week with my current situation. I’m pretty happy with it.
