IMO masters muddies things a bit. But most the time it is about WHO shows up and less about how YOU show up.

If we're talking bodybuilding then it does somewhat with the guys that are in the 35 and up Masters. It's a way in without winning at one of the big 3. The other categories (classic and physique) I have no opinion. Not my thing so I don't pay attention to the level of competition with those guys at the amateur level.

IMO, all Masters 40+ and up is about guys that didn't make it early on and are giving it one more shot. Most just want to accomplish the goal of achieving pro status after a lifetime of being dedicated to the sport.

There have been several "come backs" in the Masters divisions from guys that just never had the luck to be at the right show at the right time but probably had the goods to turn pro.

Most have no intention of competing as a pro or if they do have zero chance of winning. Most couldn't run the gear needed to to be competitive without signing their death warrant to do so anyway.

Only masters guy I’ve seen on stage recently is Meadows I think. It’s a shame a dude with that work ethic and drive was given such a free fall down the genetics tree.

Meadows is the poster child for hard work can overcome bad genetics. Unfortunately, it can really only get you so far. The guy is a legend regardless.

Funny that someone like him is perhaps more respected and looked at as infinity more knowledgeable than most any Mr. Olympia since the era of the "coaches" started.

The guy who I first learned stuff from he’s over 50. He went hard all year round just trying to get that pro card. His dosages were insane. The last few years he’s always come up just short. Last year he almost died doing the show. He said he knew something wasn’t right and went to the hospital. The day after. His blood sugars were over 1000. The doc said his kidneys should of shut down. He was in the hospital for about 3-4 weeks they ran all kinda test on him. Last I spoke to him he had to come off everything for 16 weeks. He said he was miserable. Didn’t work out for a few months. I asked him you going to try again. He said he doesn’t think so not worth dying over. I haven’t seen in almost a year since the show. I know he had a pretty well know coach too from what I saw online and his clients. Pretty crazy stuff

There’s too much jamming of square pegs into round holes in this sport.

Without the genetics for shape, size, and “resistance” to the negative side of the gear we use...you can absolutely get in trouble.

It's all about having realistic expectations and being honest with yourself because none of it is worth your life. Anyone pushing that hard up around 50ish is going to have issues come up that are life threatening for the most part. There's almost no way around that fact. Some things just aren't meant to be.

Thanks homie! Lol, I’m holding some water temporarily, but it’s a fun look while I put on some mass. Yes the tattoos were expensive! I hope life is treating you well my man!!

Hey no disrespect intended, but whatever happened with you and that crazy bitch that was hating on you for doing a competition?

Sure what do you want to know.I don’t mind you asking I put it out there. She played
Me. She ruined both shows I ever did. She faked a pregnancy 2 weeks before my show so I wouldn’t leave her and then the day of my weigh in driving to my show she told me she was getting an abortion, then lied and said just not kidding I’m not pregnant and I blew Up.

I never got to ever enjoy a prep or a show honestly. It’s not a fun process to begin with but when someone is constantly putting you down or giving you shit it’s ever harder. She was a black girl and she would said you’ll
Never be as good as a black man even with all the shit you take. they are superior and have better genetics.
Blah. Blah. But That was the one that hit the most because she had a son I basically raised and I was pretty much his dad
For 3 years. I didn’t care he was
Black

The best part was 8 weeks or so after the show she called and told me she really had an abortion and met someone guy and he took her to get it done lol and they were going to try and have a baby after it was done. I said that’s a keeper there, he’s a going to take you to abort another dudes baby and then wait for you to heal up to fuck you so you can get pregnant.

Yea that girl she’s gone and maybe one day I’ll do a show and actually enjoy it. And no disrespect asking. I’m no angel. I’ve done wrong in my life too but I was sucker for staying as long as I did. I’m
Almost 40 and I’ve always wanted kids and he was the closest thing I ever had to one so I tried more so to make it work cause I cared about him so much
