Great article. I used to to be Episcopalian but our Church voted to allow gay priests and alot of members became Anglicans(very similar).
Now if someone is gay that's no issue to me. But a gay pastor preaching to me I do admit wasn't appealing to me.
As a registered Republican I'm personally against abortion(ready to have a child at 41), but I do think it's a woman's choice and wouldn't look down on a woman who did.
Now yes I was brought up Christian my whole childhood and I'm sure that plays a important factor in my faith. But I'm now an old man(lol) who chooses to support my Church and faith.
Am I crazy? Maybe to some and I'm ok with that. I don't preach to others and don't try to "convert" strangers or friends.
I don't like the part saying you can't be a Democrat and love the church. I can't stand politics being pushed upon me by my Church. Yes it sometimes happens.
Evangelicals tend to be pretty hardcore and that's their decision. I may not agree with it but I also won't condemn them.
Very emotional on this today since I see Marieb today and I always look to God for strength.
At the end of the day I try to be a good person. I try to help those less fortunate. Do I get mad at God sometimes? Yes I do. I don't like being sick.
But I have a loving family with another soon to arrive and God has been instrumental in our lives.
I'm glad non whites have found faith in Christianity. Why should race even be an issue?
Wow this was a long post. Guess I'm more nervous about my 2 o'clock appt then I thought.
I'll shoot up a quick post letting you know how it went. Have a great holiday weekend Doc.
