Why the court appointed attorney? I thought he had clients across the globe. If true, why would anyone advertise their conviction for "AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT." This sounds serious.

I did not listen to the whole video.

It was basically saying she lied and the police covered up. Some chicks are crazy add alcohol and you got entertainment all night long. I am sure we have our own encounters in the past.

Same here as you Doc. I did watch about the first half and he may have gotten the shaft, but who really knows? I question the court appointed attorney. Woudnt one want the best they could afford in this situation?

There are some conniving, manipulative women out there and I wouldn't put it past her, particularly if she's a pot smok'n alky burner.

The process for determining indigency is in MCR 6.005(B). These factors are a guide for determining indigency and are the minimum amount of information necessary to make an informed decision on the question of indigency. Every court shall require a defendant claiming indigency to submit a sworn statement setting forth his or her financial condition. The following factors shall be considered:

1. the defendant’s present assets, employment, earning capacity, and living expenses,

2. the defendant’s outstanding debts and liabilities, secured and unsecured,

3. whether defendant has qualified for and is receiving any form of public assistance,

4. availability of any personal or real property owned and whether it would cause undue financial hardship to the defendant or dependents if converted,

5. whether the defendant is incarcerated, and

6. any other circumstances that would impair the ability to pay an attorney fee as would ordinarily be required to retain competent counsel.

I was sentenced to a year in jail. Suspended sentence. Since then, I have had to meet with a "Batterer's Intervention Group" every Wednesday morning. Just completed the whole 42 (!) week trip there.

By the way, I want to add that the Counselor for that group is very talented, and I have grown to respect and admire him greatly. IF you have to do something--no matter what the motivation--we must endeavor to do all we can to get the most from it. I feel like I am more sensitive and communicative now, and I credit observing that Counselor at work all those sessions, with the group, for that.

Because the arresting officer perjured himself on the stand that my BAC was greater than "0.10"--when it in reality it was only "0.078" (and a man has the right to NOT be intoxicated in his own home) I was also imposed constant drop tests, I can't go anywhere there is alcohol, and that whole trip.
 
I don't know if it will affect his medical license, but I would imagine that he will lose most if not all of his patients if he cannot practice for an entire year.

A suspended sentence means you do not have to serve any time in jail.

Dr J is innocent till proven guilty which the video was depicting in the inaccuracy of information presented. It's just all speculation till proven other wise in court.

Private and business should be kept separate, but eventually people would have found out about it one way or another.

He was proven guilty - that's why he is appealing the verdict.
 
He sounds just like any other convict I know...the police are corrupt and my defense attorney screwed me... Only thing worse in my book than a woman beater is a child molester. Both are scum of the earth. If you have a crazy ex, then you should know what she is and not let her in the house. If you do and if you were drinking as his breathalyzer proved, then you are responsible for what happens.

And this should not be labeled a War on Men...a real man never raises a hand to a woman.
