Hey Doc, all this talk about PL and deadlifting has peaked my interest and so im adding deads to my WO. anyway right now i use a cheap velcro belt to squat but im thinking i should step up to a real belt. Do you have one that you recommend that i order or do you think sports authority would have something sufficient?

Brutus is right, I like my Inzer lever lock belt. A Velcro belt may actually be good for deadlifts, some ppl prefer them to normal belts, but for squats and OHP a normal belt will help best.

He likes inzer belts. I like elitefts. Just get something thick and the same width all the way around. Lever lock is easiest.

Doc- these workouts make my dick hard. Is this still all pob?

This is actually Sheiko right now. I wanted to give it a run and teach myself to implement RPE principles to Russian philosophies. POB will be taking back over soon and for any peaking for a meet.

There is a PL that i see once in a while at my gym and he laughed at my belt, told me get a real belt if i plan on doing deads. I just forgot to ask him what brand and havent seen him since.
Ima hop on line and order one. Thank brutus and Doc[emoji4]

I need a belt. Theres one real nice one at my gym and the guy at the front desk always holds it for me. But im sure ill need my own. I do like that one though since its already broken in.

Any opinion on the Rogue Ohio belts? ( other than that they are expensive)

It meets the criteria for a good belt: 4in width, single prong, and 10mm thickness. I've never used one so I can't comment much. I personally prefer a lever over a prong but go with which one you're more comfortable width. It looks like a solid belt

Looks like RDX makes a good belt but idk ! 49$ on ebay 10mm 4in and real leather. Seems kinda affordable.

Get one of the economy belt from EliteFTS. They are always running specials and you should be able to get one for under $45. I have one which is a single prong that I have used regularly in training for several years. I use an Inzer lever belt in competition.

Hey Doc, I see you do a lot of dead's to knee's. What's the reason for that please?

Brutus, my coach, one of his training partners, and myself were just discussing these in my log on another board lol.

I'm running a specific program/template. Sheiko to be exact. So I just follow his lift selection and workouts once I plug in my maxes.

It is my belief that he alternates between full ROM deadlifts and partials (deadlifts to the knees and deadlifts off boxes) so as to keep general fatigue down more. Full ROM deadlifts are the most taxing of all the competitive lifts. Bench press and squats don't tax the CNS as much as deads do. So by breaking it up he can keep the volume high since broken down into the two partials it's much less taxing.

Deadlifts to the knees are done with slightly less weights to work on speed off the floor, ground strength, etc. Deadlifts from boxes, bar should be about 2in below the knee or so to start, work on lockout strength and higher weights are used for this.

So did soemthing to my back....again. Lifted Saturday everything went fine. Sunday morning I wake up and there's pain. Still here today. It's right above the asscheel to the right of the spine. Feels like the pain is from a bone though. I had a friend massage it and work a lacrosse ball on it and I almost knocked her bc it hurt so bad when any type of pressure is applied. She sent me the info to her gym's owner who is also a sports PT so I might try and get in with her to get some more ideas on the back issue. Here's today's workout, didn't do the good mornings so I may go in Sunday to do any work I've missed during the week and also to do some prehab/rehab work.
