To many to quote that say it hurts a little. Try popping Tylenol the day you pull with hook grip.
Or if you're working with a team and everyone is yelling at you to to lock that shit out and music blasting. I guess I don't feel it with hook grip.
I posted I article on Stretching your thumb to be able to get the most contact surface out of your hook grip and it will allow you to get the meaty portion of your thumb on the bar.
You and RT are more manly than I am. Hook grip hurts too much for me.
I work in glass shop and do glazing/glass fabrication all day, so i feel your painnon this. I constantly have about 20 cuts on my fingers and thumbs lol
I know the feeling now. I didn't realize the difference in training atmospheres until I switched gyms. That feeling when you lift solo in a gym full of old people and Tylenol upsets your stomach.

I definitely understand.I have no options at the moment unfortunately.
I can't imagine myself in a gym training by myself while they play Taylor Swift or Katie Perry again. Even with my playlist and headphones. It's not the same.I definitely understand.

I've able to push past mental limiting factors at the new gym. I call them mental because of the energy. It's not meet type adrenaline rush energy but it's enough positive energy to get you going.
I've just modified my farmer carry handles so that they are wider... As some bitch ones are coming up for my comp at end of year...What is is with PL guys and building their own equipment ....
Don't let them shame you out of mixed grip. It's less manly, but efficient. I've never had grip issues with it.
it does hurt moreHurts too much for me also, but i feel like a torn bicep would hurt more lol
You dont need a deadlift for BB purposes. Rack pulls will stimulate the traps and lats and hamstrings without the damage to the lumbar like deads!View attachment 77573
Some warm ups. Off cycle... I would love to be full time power lift/Oly. My hardware in my spine won’t allow it. I feel I still have a chance at B.B. THO. I really do this for fun tho... FWUH
Damage to the lumbar? I know you don’t like the idea of deadlifts in B.B. but I thought it was due to waist widening issues. A proper deadlift does not damage a lumber, yes there’s chance with improper form but you’re more likely to damage shoulders during benching so by that logic you shouldn’t bench? You dont need a deadlift for BB purposes.
