Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

Im about the same width on grip. Monolift hooks are closer than the combo rack so I can get outside the hooks. On a power rack I go as wide as I can without getting my fingers smashed on the J hook reracking

I saw girls at the meet with grip so narrow their hands and shoulders were touching. Very jealous of that shoulder mobility.

How much can they bench though? Never mind, I looked at the videos. The monolift is about the same width hooks as a power rack. My hands were inside the hooks, there was some safety straps that I had to put my hands outside

I meant grip on squat. Nothing crazy on bench that I recall. Was a girl squatting and pulling 400+. A couple smaller girls pulling high 300's.

I know what you mean. Im hinting that the stronger and more developed the upper body the worse mobility is for a lot of people. I’ve noticed that as my bench and shoulder exercises have become stronger my shoulder mobility has suffered

Perrin, why are doing only front squat as main squat?
Why not high bar squat? I have read and heard many powerlifters doing high bar off-season. Isn t better for putting on muscle and developing your squat skills?

I guess I could do high bar as main on Tuesday, the single leg stuff as secondary on Tuesday, and front squat after bench on Thursday. I'll have to think about it. I won't be pulling heavy so might not be too bad. I'll switch high bar to volume, speed, AMRAP day and keep the percentage on the AMRAP fairly low.

I am a huge fan and advocate of the soviet programming. They say the best way to build strength is at 68%-72%.

I will do a dup variation very soon (when I will cycle haha because that shit is very hars). Probably gonna choose high bar squat for volume, andersen squat for strength and front squat for speed. If the it gets hard I will alternate high bar with reverse band eccentric.

In my experience training in the lower percentages of your max is the best for gaining strength and not getting injured or overtrained.

I think the loss of water weight has begun. Weighed 220lbs before bed last night, woke up like six times in the night to piss, and was 213lbs this morning.

Beltless high bar squat 315lbs for 3x8

I think I jumped the gun and should probably take this week after the meet off and just do light walking or something. Even putting plates on the barbell is excruciating on my elbows and my back feels like it's seizing up after the squats. I've never taken a week off after a meet even though it's recommended, but I think this time I'm gonna have to.

So moving forward currently cruising on 250mg/week of test e, gonna drop that down to 150-200mg after about a month. Taking a short break from HGH and will hop back on it after.

Diet wise I'll be going back to timing carbs mostly around workouts, more calories on training days, less on off days. Don't really see going below 205-210lbs this time and will recomp a bit from there. Just wanna get abs back and be at a lower walking around weight.

Every time you bring up HGH it makes me want to try it. The blood sugar stuff kinda irks me. Do you have problems with hgh and low blood sugar past a certain dose?
