Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

You're welcome. Figured since it's here might as well read it as it happened rather than what I recall of it.
For sure. There are a few threads here that have a huge number of posts that I've been making my way through a few pages at a time. Trying to read as much as I can when I have spare time. I would've eventually come across it here on your thread.

That's the great thing about boards like this too is there are years worth of posts spread throughout different areas. I'm liking seeing where the more known members were and how they continued to progress. Really liking this community.

204lbs this morning

Bench felt pretty good and deadlift felt pretty good till the last set. Almost blacked out on that second single for some reason. Kinda sagged a bit and rotated the weight out and didn't lock it out. Been doing right hand underhand lately instead of vice versa and might've thrown me off. Also took some Cialis preworkout today for the first time in awhile, might've been a weird blood pressure drop due to vasodilation. I don't know. First time doing any kind of heavy weight on deadlift in awhile too. Strength and getting used to heavy weight will come back.

Top sets of board press at 375lbs and block pulls at 655lbs.

Damn man, you were helicoptering that second rep on DL.

which Sheiko are you running again? Advanced medium load?

Yeah, for years I've exclusively done left hand under and right hand over and just started doing the opposite the last couple weeks. Guess I'm not used to it or something.

Yes, Sheiko advanced medium load. I'm on week four.

Last time I switched my switch grip I tore my bicep. I’d say your doin ok

I might use straps for awhile with going heavier until I'm confident my back is all good. I'm paranoid right now about rotating the other way and tweaking my lower right back area again. I guess handling 655lbs with no pain today is a good sign.

315x2 bench was like RPE 5, about the same with 390x2 squat. The bench with chains was super and I only did 2 of the 4 last sets because of that. The chains at my gym are way heavier than this program calls for and too long. Really gonna have to buy my own soon.

So the back strain is doing good? You thinking about a meet?

So far so good. Pulled those sets of 655x1 sumo off blocks the other day with no pain. I was feeling a little lower back fatigue yesterday during squats, not pain, just felt like I wasn't recovered from the block pulls on Thursday. Today no pain whatsoever with the conventional pulls.

I need to find out how serious my little brother is about doing one and which one he'd like to do. If he's not planning on it I'll probably push doing one back until late summer or fall. When are you looking at doing another?

I got this one coming up in March. Thinking about doing one in the summer but that’s really not a lot of prep time. I’d like to get a decent volume block in before I start with the meet prep intensity stuff. So if not summer then fall or winter. There’s only 3 RPS meets in Texas scheduled for 2020 but there plenty of USPA Meets in my area. I’d just have to work on my bench. From what I’ve seen with USPA Texas their refs give a long count before the press command, a FULL second nearly two seconds with some. This is regardless of the bar being stopped.

Sometimes they don't announce them till later on in the year for the end of the year ones.

I'm thinking I'd like to give this superdrol another shot soon and try to quickly add some size and then train at a heavier bodyweight for awhile. Then run another blast into a meet. That'll hopefully give me time to get past the injuries and get my strength back up.

Still haven't taken the plunge with sdrol. One of my good friends had solid gains all around from it but it trashed his lipids pretty hard.

I took really low dose injectable superdrol a few years ago with anavar and had good results. Then last year a few days on 10mg caps made me feel really awful. Was also on a pretty good amount of other gear too. Gonna try again starting at 5mg and just test this time.

208lbs

Since the chains at my gym are 20lbs too heavy I'm taking 20lbs off the bar weight for these.

Also had to skip the last set of 585x3 block pull. Getting that pain pretty badly again in my lower back/hip area. I'm probably gonna have to drop sumo altogether for now and just pull all conventional and see if that helps. If it doesn't I guess just drop deadlift completely for a few months and either do the full Smolov routine for squat and bench both or do a blast and do some kind of hypertrophy training to add some size. Not sure yet.

Getting frustrating being constantly plagued with injuries, but looking back at last year I was off squat and deadlift four months or so and off bench about the same and still PR'd every lift. So if I could keep injuries down to 2-3 months off each lift this year should be a good year.
