Perrin Aybara's Journey to an Elite Powerlifting Total

208lbs

Since the chains at my gym are 20lbs too heavy I'm taking 20lbs off the bar weight for these.

Also had to skip the last set of 585x3 block pull. Getting that pain pretty badly again in my lower back/hip area. I'm probably gonna have to drop sumo altogether for now and just pull all conventional and see if that helps. If it doesn't I guess just drop deadlift completely for a few months and either do the full Smolov routine for squat and bench both or do a blast and do some kind of hypertrophy training to add some size. Not sure yet.

Getting frustrating being constantly plagued with injuries, but looking back at last year I was off squat and deadlift four months or so and off bench about the same and still PR'd every lift. So if I could keep injuries down to 2-3 months off each lift this year should be a good year.
I never paid much attention to the actual Shieko setup...But damn, that’s a ton of volume.

A lot of people say that. I guess I'm just used to training similar to this with just mostly main lifts and close variations in higher volume. The only day that's been bothering me is this day where I've been doing sumo. Doing conventional on the other deadlift day hasn't bothered my back at all. I'm hoping I can just strictly conventional for awhile and not have to take time off deadlift completely.

Doing a few weeks / months of conventional shouldn’t hurt your sumo too bad, assuming you pull some light sumo once in a while to keep your form in check. I like your idea of doing conv one day and sumo the other. I’m gonna have to do that when I start strength training again...Then I just need to sub squats in somewhere.

Girlfriend and I spent the night out of town for Valentine's Day, so had to find a gym this morning. Bench just keeps feeling better and better. 335x2 was about RPE 4, definitely could have gotten 8 reps with it easily. Pretty sure I'm back to where I could hit 400+ again. At least today anyway. Squat felt okay. Had to skip accessories because checkout is 11am and I was cutting it close and still had to shower.

Also some guy was trying to show me up on bench. He struggled with 315lbs and then did a set of 335x3 hip thrusting bench with tons of spotter assistance. Then put 355lbs on and got a single rep with extreme hip thrusting with the spotter doing a heavy upright row. I was leaving the room to go squat and he was adding more weight.

He should've kept hard eye contact with you the whole time he was hip thrusting :D

Did conventional today and still no pain. Not 100% it's not just that I'm doing such light weight. Sumo only starts hurting at moderate weight, so I really don't know. If I leave a 600lb training max and keep doing conventional I won't even go moderately heavy for over a month and maybe that's what I need right now.

No sense in pushing it if you don’t have a meet. Let that shit heal

Yeah, I'm just gonna worry about squat and bench right now. Can't hurt getting some conventional work in as long as it doesn't hurt.

Seven weeks from now I'm supposed to do 2-3 singles with at least my training maxes and up to like 30lbs over if possible. I'm feeling pretty good about hitting small PRs on squat and bench. My conventional PR is still 600lbs, so should be able to surpass that a little too.

No shame in that, it seems past a certain point maybe class 1 or 2 total it’s really hard for guys to move all lifts in the right direction simultaneously.
I was thinking about this a few weeks ago.. doesn’t make more sense to focus on 1-2 lifts, while maintaining others, to manage fatigue, etc.? And switch back and forth?

move kinda just maintained my squat while focusing on DL and bench. It wasn’t on purpose, but it’s helped to bring them up

I make more progress on back squat if I'm not deadlifting and more progress on deadlift if I'm not back squatting. Bench is mostly unaffected except low bar squat can hurt it by hurting my elbows. I can still bring up all three at once on a good blast, it's more a matter of not being injured somehow.

It's harder to manage recovery on a cruise. I mean I guess natties do it all the time though. Can I claim natty on 150mg a week of test enan, 2iu a day of HGH, 20mg a day of MK 677, and 5g a day of creatine? I feel like I'm borderline natty right now. I might go ahead and finish out this entire Sheiko like this and see how it goes.

Sounds natty to me.
Let's break it down.
150mg Test - Normal male levels (TRT)
2iu GH - Replacement level, no more than a 22 year old would have.
Mk677 - Secretagogue... Thetefore you are ACTUALLY creating your own GH, therefor you are natty (Science)
5g Creatine- Creatine counts as natty, it's from a supplement store, everyones using it.

See Perrin

I hereby pronounce you Natural, go forth and lift :D

In that case I better get on Instagram and push some supplements. Enter code PERRIN15 at checkout for 15% off.

Superdrol for size? It didn't do too much for my muscles except give them retard strength at around day 5. I've had 3 goes with it. Never again, though, except for maybe a week to set up a PR, but probably not. The shit is harsh, but it doesn't fuck up my cardio or blood pressure like anadrol does. Just lipids and liver badly, but I didn't feel so crappy on it like most people seem to.

206lbs this morning

Bench continues to feel great. 315lbs moving quick and easy. Squats not feeling great today, not sure why. The bench with chains still a work in progress. Gym chains are way too heavy and too long. I had them folded into triple with four carabiners to get the length somewhat right and it feels very heavy. Went to the hardware store the other day to buy chain, but would've been $200 for what I need and I can't justify that. Probably find some old junk chain somewhere and get it cut eventually.

Diet wise keeping calories around maintenance since I'm cruising. 3800-4200 calories a day depending on if a gym day or not. Not really doing the calorie cycling at the moment, so beyond having a post workout shake daily calories remain about the same.

Supplement wise everything is the same. Might eventually drop the MK 677 back to 15mg because my hands are getting so numb at night it's waking me up sometimes.

For the first time in the two years I've had this job I forgot to pack my sandwich today. Packed the rest of my daily food luckily and only forgot the sandwich. So had to change up my meal order and I'm eating the sandwich now that I'm home.
