Rob's log part 2 (gonna take a crack at PLing)

Ok last nights workout sucked. I got nauseous as fuck towards the end of my bench session and fought off puking the entire deadlift session. Not sure what that was all about but I feel much better today. Still got all my reps.

I have a video of the 495 deadlift. It's not best on form. I was doing everything I could to not puke during my workout. I'll post it if anyone is interested.

I've been MIA from this but I'm back now Rob. Sorry.
It's all good man. Just been pushing through. Next Monday I'll get to kinda see where I'm at. Only got one more workout to go on block 31. All seems to be moving along fairly good. A few little bumps but nothing bad.

Let's see the 495. I figured out that to watch your vids I've got to use another browser. How are you feeling about what your max is after these singles? Or was it not a good day to tell because you were sick?

I was able to pull the weight steady and easy. I was just pissed because I more a less stiff legged it. It felt fairly light considering

It's hard to tell bc the bar is in the way but it looks like you're knees were locked before the bar came above them.

It was horrible form honestly. My stomach was jacked up and I was trying to get my reps in and not get sick. It wasn't my best attempt. I'm just glad it didn't feel all that heavy

Well you saw it through to the end so you know for the future you can fight through damn near anything. It probably did more for the mental game than anything else.

You just need to practice maintaining your back angle, Rob. Imagine your back as a rigid piece of steel and that angle is locked in place until that bar gets to your knees. It's just something that takes practice when it comes to heavier singles.

Ok wanted to give some updates. I haven't been posting a lot of details lately and I got a few mins.

First thing is my night weight was 202.5 which should leave right around 198 first thing in the am. There won't really be any cutting necessary come mock meet day. Very happy with my strength for my weight. So that's a good thing.

I have one more WO left for block 31. Super pumped I'm getting close to the end. Some feelings on Sheiko so far. The volume has definitely made me stronger and great endurance. Kept me lean and looking good as well. One thing I don't like. Although I know I'm getting stronger I really don't like the idea of never hitting over 90% for that span of time. I did my 365 great on bench the other night but the weight was such a shock because I never lift it. Not being able attempt 405 at any point in the first 90 days has slightly worried and is mind fucking me a bit. 16 weeks is also a long time. I like the idea of @Perrin Aybara 10 week program much better. But i said I would follow through and get the damn thing done and I fully intend to.

Gear update. Sabo deadlift shoes are amazing for all around lifting and King for deads. Wasn't a fan for squats but that's me. For some reason I love them on bench too. The Nikes are still king for squats as far as I'm concerned. SBD knee sleeve are fucking amazing. A son of a bitch to get on but amazing none the less. SBD wrist wraps also on point. Looks like I'll be ordering me an inzer 10mm lever belt. Just want it I suppose. New nike AirMax are comfy as shit for my cardio.

Last thing is what's next. I really don't know yet. Got a really good offer by a coach for more of a BBing style program. Really cheap and get a lot for my money. I still want to do a meet and possible a show both this year. Not sure I'll have time to do both but I want to try just so I can say I did.
That's it for the time being. Thanks for all the support. That shit keeps me motivated

Man you've been killing it so far and it sucks to not go past 90% but it keeps you injury free and the volume will make you stronger no doubt. On a side note we damn near have all the exact same lifting gear now besides your nikes being green and mine black, so gotta say you got nice taste in gear :p

Also it's awesome following your log like the detail and makes me want to push harder and match that kind of effort!

The Russians view training differently than the west does. They don't try for maxes in the gym bc they mean nothing if you're a competitor. For a competitor, the only thing that matters is what you get on the platform and that is when you set new maxes.

That makes sense. I'm sure I'll surprise myself in the end. Just sharing thoughts. I figured there was reasoning behind it.

Of course and I totally understand it. One very common mistake ppl make is to stick to training programs they don't like bc they believe them to be superior. The fact of the matter is, if you truly like your programming and believe in it, you will subconsciously give it more effort and get more out of it. Russian style programming certainly isn't for everyone. It can be boring bc of the repetitiveness and lack of great lift selection but it works very well for what it's made for and that's getting the lifter stronger.

I'm more of a doer than a thinker. I like having a task in front of me and accomplishing it. This coming Monday will be a good test of where I'm at and will be the first time I've done all 3 big lifts in the same day.
