Welcome To Planet Mother Fucker

@ickyrica hey man what’s up. Just jumped into this thread now. Not sure what went on with you in the past but glad hear that you’re moving forward. Always forward buddy. That’s the direction. Especially when you get knocked back. Hope you keep up with this log. I’d like to hear your overall opinion on atlas. May consider giving them a shot after the new year. Either way good luck and keep at it. You know we are all here to help and to fuck with you;)

I missed a workout last night. I was at work at 6am (customers site) and didn't get a chance to breath until 7pm. Long day of programming for a family entertainment facility. My first missed workout since this began. I'm going to do yesterday's work out today, and kind of back fill the rest of the week accordingly. Can't lie, the Red Sox had a part in the missed workout...

I'm pretty friggin pleased with Atlas thus far. I'm not gaining tons of weight like my previous cycles but my workouts are aggressive and my nutrition is still on point. On a nutrition level, I think I'm noticing something I've never really noticed before. When I eat carbs I swear I can feel my body use them, almost like I get a small pump when I eat carbs. Not sure if that's normal? Lol, it's kinda cool though!

Looking and feeling great all around, for the most part. My left hip feels smoked though, fact of life for me I guess. It's just so tight all the time, even with stretching. It's my TFL and oh boy does it hate me lol.

Had a TFL situation myself, still working with PT on it. My situation started with hernia surgery, which made me inactive for a bit. To alleviate the pain from standing, I learned how to disengage my core when standing and moving which caused my abs to turn off. The time off also lead to me using my glutes a lot less so they voluntarily turned off, especially if you spend a lot of time seated (sitting stretches your glutes and tightens your TFL).

Long story short ended up with tight as fuck TFL and hip bursitis. Didn’t show its face until I became active training again. Went to PT and gave needling a try as well as cupping. Bursitis is gone TFL is a hella lot looser.

What my PTist has me doing is glute work, core work and using the lacrosse balls to lay on anywhere there is muscle tension/knots. Shit helps tremendously. I do the stretches too, they help some but the lacrosse balls are really effective, shits like a massage without being aggressive.

I'm all good dude, appreciate the kind words. September was a rough month. We lost 3 people in our inner circle in as many weeks. Very surreal on many levels. Gotta pick up and move on though.

I will keep up on the log for a while. I kind of enjoy being able to look back at a timeline of sorts. And as far as @Atlas_Physiques goes, I would recommend them to anyone who could use the coaching from what I have seen in the past month. I intend to use them throughout the remainder of the year and I expect there to be great results. They are legit and combining that with a serious effort on the clients part across all phases of the game plan is a no loose situation, imo.

I broke my hip and the end result is a fucked TFL. It gets so tight after legs. I work on it and it gets better for a while. It seems to always get inflamed again though. I have a pretty unique situation that includes the hip fracture, a knee implant and a femur osteotomy. I'm complicated :( it's all good though. I'm getting better about prehab and will keep getting better. All I know is I'm gonna roll until my wheels come off!

Is your offending TFL viasably larger? Mine gets noticeably larger when inflamed.

And on a personal note, I crushed a job over the past two days and the client is psyched. They need a video system upgrade and we just got the job based on the engineering and programming that my group at work did. It's not crazy expensive at a little less than $200k but it's going to be a streaming system with close to 100 endpoints. Pretty frigging cool in my world. Might even make it into a trade magazine with this gig :)

Putting up 200' of fence this weekend. No rest for the wicked.

I could always feel when my TFL’s are super tight and inflamed. Decided to take a look after you pose the question (is my TFL visibly larger). Perfect timing as I just got home from a 3 hour round trip roadtrip. I’ll use this as a baseline.

Hip fx, knee implant... Talking about rebounding and continuing to push forward... Fuck dude, you’re an inspiration, keep grinding!

I bet you that you can visually tell when it's inflamed. I'd be surprised if not.

The real tragedy is when people stop grinding. It's easier to get up and get at it than it is to let life pass you by. I loose my mind when I'm not going in the correct direction, which most definitely includes hammering on my body at the gym. Injuries can be fixed, the body is pretty resilient. The scars are pretty cool though!

Damn! Is that you @ickyrica? From gear or work?

Since we are sharing scars. This was me at 13. This was a full year of surgery’s pain and recovery. 26 years later and not a day has gone by that I’m not still in pain. I walk all day at work and every step is a reminder of this yet My combined squat and deadlift is a little over 800. Not bad considering the muscle atrophy I have in my left leg. Fun fact. The surgery to put that device on took about 8 hours or so. Three months later when they took it off I was in the Drs office and I swear on my life he pulled out one of those old school little red metal craftsman tool boxes. He took a pair of dykes and cut each pin that was going through my leg. They were under tension and each cut made was plucking a guitar string. The pain would resonate through my whole leg and into my body. After the pins were cut he just slide the rings off over my foot. He then proceeded to pull each of the 12 pins through my leg. Unimaginable pain. 3 months of recovery to let the bones heal. Another surgery. Another almost 6 months of recovery. Sometimes I wish I could just cut it off but that would be the pussy way out. I’ll just deal with the pain lol. Oddly enough that’s still not the worst year of my life. Moral of this story. Take the hits and keep moving forward hitting back like a mother fucker. Bad things will always happen to you in life. You can let it define you. Destroy you. Strengthen you. I am always going to let it strengthen me. Now I have to get to work. Later fuckers.

Playing around with friends basically. Threw a front kick and my knee dislocated on contact. When I pulled my kicking leg back, it was the leg I used to put weight on as i transitioned to a defensive position. It all happened so fast I didn't have time to realize what condition my knee was in, so when I put weight on the dislocated knee, the leg ended up folding backwards at the knee. Miserable moment in time. Basically ended up ripping half the bottom of my femur off resulting in a carticel implant. The osteotomy was to remove a pressure point from the implant so it wouldn't fail and have to be redone. I have to wear annunloader brace when doing legs now or I get crazy inflammation. With the brace I get none.

Oh good Lord! So you know my pain Lol! You have the same mindset I have bro, that's good. I got depressed after a while with mine. It wiped me out mentally. I had to build myself back up and it wasn't easy. Devastating injuries can make or break a man. Keep on trucking dude, only the strong survive!

Fuck yeah bro. My epitaph on my tombstone and life’s motto is don’t be a pussy.

So I'm a month in now. Excited to be progressing, excited to still feel healthy, excited to have a handle on things for the first time in a while.

Here are a couple pics from when I started. I was floating around 250# and was feeling and looking like pizza dough. I regret not taking pics of me doing some sort of posing when I took these. 20181022_185554.jpg 20181022_185524.jpg

I'm about 248# now and although I don't look like much I feel great and the weight is moving well. Good controlled workouts are kicking my ass every day, love it.

I figure in another months time I'll have a better idea of how to pose better, never really cared about "how to" lol.

I feel thicker all around despite having lost some weight. I know I'm getting thicker because all of my large t-shirts are getting tighter lol. What do you guys think?

Don’t take this the wrong way but yeah you might be a little soft but you’re also 250lbs. What do you expect to look like after taking time off. You have a soft belly but certainly not carrying a bloated beer belly around. We are all our own worst enemies and critics. You’re coming along nicely. Just stay the course with your program and you should be pretty diesel by the time you’re done.

Time is a mother fucker isn't it? I was thinking a full 90 days would make for a good turn around. Lol, I did spend the prior 2 months doing nothing in a gym and hitting the Titos like a bad dog.

It certainly is. This time of the year is all the octoberfest beers and stouts that come out that do me in. Holding steady at 190ish but that can easily be 205 and better in only a few weeks. Best part of what you’re doing is where you’ll be in a few months. Gives you a better perspective and appreciation for what your doing. What we all do.

I was always just a regular gym bro until i got into PL. This is my first real deal BB game plan after a few years of PL and I'm going to keep it up for the time being. It's wicked disciplined and my hats off to the folks that do it day in and day out. It's all sort of becoming automatic for me at this point, can't wait till the turn of the year. Results should be good!

I dropped dbol for this next month of training and holy fucking shit, my hunger is through the fucking roof. My diet went to shit last night. I ate like 2 extra dinners! All meat and veggies but God damn was the hunger legit.

Oh, and I'm so sick of chicken right now

Still hungry all the time. I got some pork tenderloin and stuffed them in the Treager, making a batch of turkey chilli (turkey, black and red beans and diced tomatoes, onion and seasoning) so I'm off the chicken for a while. At least two days lol.

Killer back day. I'm really enjoying back right now. It's coming along well. Have been doing prone shrugs, enjoy them. Actually like them better not on a bench.

My workout tempo is steadily gaining speed and I'm getting much better at choosing appropriate weight for my sets. Pretty happy about that

Seriously fuck the chicken. I took like two weeks off of eating it. I made turkey chili. Bought some quality jarred sauce and mixed it with turkey and brown rice. I did whatever i could not to eat chicken.

What's up fuckers? Another week coming to a close and I feel like things are going pretty well. I'm starting to add some body weight which is cool. The weight is quality, really not feeling bloated but I'm still far from trim lol! Currently sitting around 253/254#. So I've only "gained" a couple pounds on this run so far, but i initially lost around 5 pounds and have since gained back up close to 10 pounds and it looks like legit mass. Not all sorts of bloated. My take on it is this: I have a fair amount of body mass. I'm just reshaping it all into bodybuilder status lol. Kind of like a potato shaped bodybuilder though haha!

Nutrition plan is still going really well. It's easy and routine now. I'm kind of tired if it though. I try to mix it up by getting a different type of meat at every meal. Before I was just hammering back all chicken one day, red meat the next, turkey the next. I'm also craving carbs like a pregnant woman. I caught myself starting at an old woman as she was eating Chinese food. Her noodles were calling my name haha. She wasn't pleased with some roided up goofball staring her plate down lol. A cheat meal might be finding it way to my plate pretty soon.

Um, I'm finding myself getting annoyed somewhat quickly these days. It's noticeable in my head and I'm actually having to make an effort in some circumstances to not say stupid shit. I'm not used to feeling this way on cycle, all I can attribute it to would be the EQ? Anyone else get weird on EQ? It's nothing I can't handle, just something to note.

Feeling good all around. Elbows are a little sore, going to back off my AI a touch to see if im starting to drive my e2 a bit low. Getting bloods done soon as well. It's been a while and we all deserve to know what the real deal is as we fuck around with our bodies.

Still working on my house like a fucking mad man. Replacing a cold air drop and return at my hvac today. Kind of rusty and rotting at the bottom. I can not wait for this pig of a house to be ready to just live in. I know I will always be working on it but doing normal projects are a whole lot more reasonable that intensive surgery every weekend lol. Im getting good at general contracting shit lol. Might start a side company when all is said and done! Something I'm really excited about is Christmas!! This will be my first Christmas in my own home!! This is a big deal for me guys : )

Congratulations on the house again! That is an awesome feeling Christmas in your own home. Sounds like things are going good with atlas, I'm thinking about trying them out next year. Good luck on the HVAC surgery, I'm working 6 days a week currently putting anywhere from 160-220 miles a day on my truck. Saving for a little 4 banger for commuting. Anyhow have a good weekend dude.
