Why there almost certainly is No God!!

Humanna
If "God" created "Hell" for those whom have committed the only unforgivable sin (blasphemy) then I suspect it would be a very empty place, which is not implied biblically.

Although I pass judgement on no one regarding their salvation spiritually, I can think of NO OTHERS more fitting for Hades than those whom were entrusted servants of "Gods church" .

Their demonic deeds is/was the etiology for lifelong emotional suffering on behalf of these children, all symbolically committed in "Gods name".

Personally, I can not think of a more egregious act which defiles the name of God and betrays his trust more! Yea I suspect they qualify for 'Hell" but that's just my opinion and fortunately I don't make such decisions.

Heck I find it very difficult to dismiss anyone regardless of how incompetent they may be, lol.

Assuming there is a god and creator. His intelligence would dwarf our simple intelligence considerably. For instance, what is man's greatest invention? Whatever we point to, this is insignificant in comparison to the creation of a universe.

So when someone says he or she believes in god, typically in western society this means Christianity (A religion or world view where the gateway to heaven resides in the belief of God, in particular Jesus.) what he or she must realize is that there is no fooling someone much smarter than you. To say you believe in God... this is the easy part. In the case of Christianity, are you not also expected to model you actions according to Jesus to the best of your abilities? – A lot of self-sacrifice. Not a glamorous lifestyle.

The bible is riddled with passages about forgiveness. Knowingly sinning and expecting forgiveness...um...not sure that will work out the way many people think it will IMO. Its not like having a debate with anyone on this board, justifying your actions to God...when he already knows what your intentions were at the time... good luck.

I am agnostic, but who doesn't like the idea of an afterlife. For this reason I have spent some personal time, learning about many world religions (I have read the bible countless times), studying accounts of life after death, reading from great philosophers (Locke, Epicurus, Aquinas, Confucius, Descartes, Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Lewis), studding the history and origins of religious artifacts, etc. For everyone answer I have found, I have found two more questions.

Hebrews 9:27

27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. NIV

People say the Bible proves God does exist...I have comic books that prove spider man exists.!!!!

And how many of those comic books spoke accurately on scientific principles 1000s of years before mainstream science accepted them???

Blood is necessary for life
The earth is round
The earth is suspended by nothing

Just three facts spoken about in the Bible, LONG before the scientific community accepted them, the list goes on.

I am convinced that at least 90% of people who make their skeptical comments about the Bible have never even read the entire thing, cover to cover. They just spout their uneducated, uninformed opinions.

Someday you will give account for the idle words you speak.

I think the Bible proved knowledge existed but a deity, is perhaps a Stretch, :)

There are many many other physical phenomenon which prove all life was the result of some concocted "primordial soup" IMO!

This is what Christ said about that. Matthew 18:6 (NIV)
"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

This is what God had to say about that as He spoke through Moses, the author of Genesis 1:1-5 (NIV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Idle words?? There are so many discrepancies in the bible, it's amazing!!!

This is what Jesus told His disciples; written by the Apostle John
John 14:6-7

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.

Just curious, not being facetious, but, if you need 7 day's to create something, wouldn't you have to create the day's first?

This is just an assumption on my part, but I think that's how the seven days came about. I don't think God started out saying "Lets see....umm.. I've only got seven days, what should I do first". :) Additionally, the way I understand it. Time means nothing to God. We can't understand His concepts, but His 1 day could be 1000 years we just don't know.

Or time could even be non-linear. This might explain how the earth can be only a few thousand years old yet contains fossils that are millions of years old not to mention humans coexisting with dinosaurs.
Live in the moment and treat everything with respect and all will be ok.

Good to see you around Keriheat. :)

Hi 'Z' :)

Idle words?? There are so many discrepancies in the bible, it's amazing!!!

Have you read the book? All of it? Or did you find a few pieces of information which simply reinforced your previously held notion that Christians are quacks, and God is as real as spiderman?

Will you google the discrepancies now? If so, you know in your heart that you haven't given this topic enough research.

Either way....post the discrepancies...won't be the first time I've responded to them. Probably not even in this thread.
