Crystal's 1st Cycle Log. Anavar Only.

Day 48, 5/23/16

Rest day. Anavar 15mg. Albuterol 9mg.

Day 49

Weight: 137

Anavar 15mg. Albuterol 9mg.

I finally hit 200+ for my squats today! Super happy about that. I did 200lbs. x 4 and felt good after. So I decided to add an extra 5lbs. and do another set. I was struggling with my 4th rep at 205, so my buddy helped me out a tiny bit. He hardly touched me though, so I can think I could've repped it out on my own. Wishful thinking, ha.

I had someone record me max squatting so I can check out my form. Sent my video to @Happycamper so she can vouch for me.:D

I started off my cycle squatting 135 x 8. I'm on week 9 and squatting 205 x 4. Three more weeks of my cycle left and I get a little nervous and excited when I think about what's to come as far as strength and muscle gainz.

I've been on vacation the last five days and have been eating a ton and not lifting so hard. My body weight is up by 4lbs. and I woke up feeling fat, bloated and gross. At least that extra weight wasn't for nothing, ha.;)

60lbs. 1 x 12

Seated calf
100lbs. 3 x 22

Hey @Crystal234 that's freaking awesome. That's some real good progress! I would warm up a little higher next time so the jump to your attempted pr isn't so drastic. 25# is huge but glad your were able rep that out. Solid #'s overall.

Thank you! Haha, I didn't even realize that it was a 25# jump. I didn't think anything of it because a week prior my max was four reps at 195. I did 175 x 2 and then 195 x 4. So I figured it wouldn't hurt this week to just add on an extra 5lbs, lol. Thank you for your advice though and I will take my time with warming up at my next squat session.

If you think that was bad, a few weeks ago my husband and I got into it because I wanted to try my max and jump from 135 to 185. My max the week prior was 175. He flipped on me for not warming up more. Lol. No, you guys are right though. I thought I was doing myself a favor by not wasting more of my energy by warming up with more weight and reps.

Hahaha your a real beast to jump that high lol, im on his side though for that one. Your absolutely right about the warm up to an attempted pr, but too much can hinder too! I've always started just with a bar and work my way up my percentages and go off that. We use a rule of thumb generally like a 5/3/3/2/ attempt a 1rm. It isn't a one size fit all but you can tweak those reps to fit your numbers in. Nonetheless you are making awesome progress hats off to you!

A beast or stupid. Lmao. Could you please elaborate on this 5/3/3/2 thing? I want to make sure I'm warming up right and really I'm really lucky and glad I didn't injure myself in the past.

Sure, this is a part of a strength cycle we do from time to time but the gist when attempting our 1RM is that we obviously warm up the posterior chain for a good while, and then warm up with the bar for a few deep reps...the 5 reps at a decent weight i.e 165#, then 3 reps at 175#,3 reps #185 the. 2 reps at 195#, and the work into that 1RM...again you can tweak the numbers/reps to fit your liking but usually what we do. Not a one size fits all but works for many.

Also: take about a 2min rest in between sets here, no flying through this but don't lose the momentum.

Gotcha. So would you say that you don't add more than 10#'s per set? So if my last max was 205 x 4, what would my starting set be, besides warming up with the bar?

There really isn't a set # you add per say but yeah that could be a good number to go off. I find my true 1RM, and then use a training max based off that number to get percentages. I can't really say well if you do Y x Z this is your number...I would say that set of 5 should be something you can squeeze 5-8 reps out easily....can you do that with 155# or 165#? I would play with those while working out...Hitting a 1RM to me isn't something I do EOD. We work close to those numbers but don't ever really hit a 1RM unless thats what we are doing which is usually the end of a strength cycle for the big 3 or 5 lifts that we do.

Sweet. That was extremely helpful. Yes, I'm sure I could do at least 5 at 155 now. Looking forward to playing with #'s at my next session. Thank you for your help. :)

No problem, I think you have a level head with real expectations, not these outlandish super human abilities for the amount of oral compound you are taking. You've had a very good cycle but the saying goes.. "Rome wasn't built in a day (or in this case 1 cycle). ;)

I wish I had super human abilities on cycle. Sometimes it almost feels like it. Almost, lol!

LOL, I guess wrong choice of words. Maybe unfathomable/physiologically impossible abilities within reason...I know the feeling especially when you get in the zone and have some good music on!

Hahaha yes. I agree. Oh and choice of music certainly makes a huge difference for me, too.

What's funny is the same thing happened to me a couple years ago at my gym. But it was a man in his 40's, who was also a regular and I would see him frequently lifting.

One day, I was in the stretching area and he was mimicking my every move. My husband noticed and texted me to tell me because he was trying to be discreet. We both wanted to bust up laughing. It was so odd.

Damn it. I was sure no one noticed me.

Strong work Crystal. Congrats on the PR.
