Meso Powerlifting Corner

To be honest aswell i fucking felt like i had it easy, no flat spot just down slow and exploded up. Also felt good to have 2 fellas there to spot instead of my poor missus lol
Yea man I like double spotters when I can. My girl is normally spotting me solo , And usually that's enough. But on a big pr attempt the spot on each side can be a big confidence booster, at least for me. Squatting big is as mental as it is physical.
 
Due to the Chinese new year, poor planning, and a lack of patients on my part my cycle and lifting program don't line up. I start pct in 2 weeks but the program runs 8 more with a comp 8 weeks from tomorrow. I have never had a cycle not run the length of my program. The next 8 weeks I still want to make gains. Can I expect to be able to keep it up or are my numbers probably going to drop

It's likely you'll be able to maintain strength, my concern for you would be the lack of intensity. My biggest issue when I'm not on cycle is that I just don't have the motivation that I normally have when I'm on. You're not doing a PL meet are you?

I'll second this. And yes , I took it as he had a meet that his programming was leading up to. Gonna be tough, but nothing impossible. Just depends what his goals for the meet are and who he's up against.

My suggestion if he had a meet coming up would be to extend that cycle lol. No way in hell am I competing as a natty.
 
My mates are getting a deadlift bar think its called texas bar aswell.

Apparently they flex a heap, im interested to see how they go. They do 220kg now (always been natty 97kgBW)

Is the bar really that helpful?
Some people love them. I've never used one enough to grow partial.

Huge difference brother. I like not having access to that bar in my gym because the day of the meet your deadlift feels great. I'd get used to it if I pulled with it constantly. The best feeling is being at a competition lifting all day and then you get to your deads and they fly off the floor.

Yea, just depends If he's down with consequences of bumping what was probably at least a ten week cycle up to 18 or 20. As for me, in that same situation... I accepted the consequences of gear use the day I did my first pin lol, bring on the week 20 gains brah

Sounds good bro, they want me to train with them for a 12 week program. Think i mite give it a go. Tried board presses the other day, i never really understood them until i tried them. I can see how they are so effective

We talked about these a few pages back. I can't remember what page though. One member said he gets like 20kg or more out of it. I'd say I get closer to 10kg. I don't get the chance to use one often outside of meets, so it's hard to say exactly. I'd love to have one if I had a way to transport it.

It's going to feel a little weird with the whip at first, depending on how much you've got on the bar. I can feel the difference around 160-180kg, not a ton there, but a little. 250+ and it's very noticeable.

I agree with this. No way in hell I'd try finishing a peaking cycle natty. I could see a very unfortunate attempt selection at a meet because of it. How long has your cycle been already?

I guess there would be a lot of factors if you do come off. Age, level of advancement, etc. If you're in your 20's and not at your natty potential it might be okay. If you're 30+ and well past your natty limits it'll probably not turn out well.

I really like them. My old gym had one and I used it regularly. Now I just get to use one at meets. If I had a truck instead of a car I'd probably order one. I bet the shipping to where you are must have been out of this world. They're around $500 here.
 
It already is a 24 week cycle. I'm not trying to make it 32. But yes leafing to Pl comp. I think my 1rep max is where I want it but I rarely test until comp or prep. At this point dl needs about 7.5 lbs and squat needs also 10. Bench is where I want it.

Thanks alot mate appreciate it, yeh they paid $500usd and $1200usd to get it shipped to AUSTRALIA, shouldnt be to far away. This is why i asked about them as i was wondering if they are worth that sort of outlay
 
Yeah, I don't think extending it is a good idea. I wouldn't be comfortable blasting that long unless there were records or sponsorships or something on the line. Just do the best you can and live and learn. There will be more meets.

Damn man I aint hatin but how the hell did u not make a 24 week cycle not run straight into and past your meet lol? I think I'm bad sometimes but that's some seriously poor planning! either way get to that meet and kick ass! Things could always be worse.
 
Don't know where to post this so Ima toss it here for my large quadded friends. Took my 5th stab at jeans shopping today and ended up in the bay trying on all the Levis that were loose fit or orinial and found some 541 athletic fits, I've tried these before but this time they were stretchy. Anyways after appreciating the milfs taking a second look when I was shopping I try on the new stretchy 541 walk out of the Change room to the mirror and the lady that lets you in the change room says we have looser fitting pants so I jumped at it and she said I should "try the 541 pants" -.- I'm wearing those she thought I was wearing the slim fits. We're talking tight as an emo kid but I wear it around my hips so it was squishing the boys. Ended up just doing the usual and getting a pair 2 sizes to large and gonna belt up but man how the fuck do they consider that athletic fit! There has to be a sub 150$ pair of jeans that's a legit athletic fit I'm talking 32" waist 26" thighs
