Race to a 700lb Deadlift

View attachment 89117

Just pulled 700lbs off 5-6" blocks. One step closer to 700lbs from the floor.
Nice lift brother. How do you feel like the trap bar work you were doing last October transferred to your deadlift?

My coach has been programming them for me in this meet prep (along with a ton of other quad-dominant shit) and they've come way up but it has been weeks since I deadlifted...getting a little antsy to see how the carryover from those and front squats turns out

It definitely put some size on my upper back and traps. I considered that a weak link before because my upper back caved and hurt when pulling around 550+. Now feels solid even at 700lbs. Helping build the foundation for eventually pulling 700+. I'm still using trap bar as an accessory lift. I alternate three weeks of low handle 3x8 and three weeks of high handle 5x5 after my competition deadlift.
