I feel great, fresh, some weeks off were needed. This isn't a sprint fam. Can't go heavy every week until July, end up broken and crippled.
So What is going on in these videos?
Bench
Restart my bench at 315, remember last block ended 365x10.
I threw in a band for emotional reasons, just wanted a fun change of pace and the band will also help increase my tricep demands and result in some additional growth. So, take the win.
Next week we will push the load up a smidge and recalibrate at 4x5+amrap
One additional rep than last bock and we will work back toward 365 and maybe past it!
My primary bench day is Saturday, my secondary is Tuesday.
Being that I am so far from competition my Tuesdays are mostly just volume and oriented around building muscle. Probably will do lots of dumbbells this block, but I may not lol.
Squat
Feels good getting back under the bar, kept volume ultra low
2x3 and an extra rep without a pause, next week will go back up to 5 sets. Keeping them paused.
I try to tell people that pausing your squats will really optimize strength and muscle development, while the rebound on the squat is a SKILL that you want to maximize and develop leading into the time to express your max.
