Secret Sources, the SCOC and the Steroid Underground

For those who don't think this forum can keep sourcing away as long as it's uncensored, go back and skim over the kind of posts that were made during its first year in existence. Then compare it to what you see today. The difference is night and day.

It's not a source site.

If certain aspects of this sub forum might represent a sales platform, It's only like that because of the actions of the members who have allowed it to slowly represent a sales platform, and we can easily get rid of the sourcing aspects that we don't like by not giving these amateur sources a chance.

Flenser explained it better than I could, so I will quote his post -

That is an excellent explanation of how to 'solve' this problem.

It's a completely community driven subforum, the current state of this subforum is a result of participating members and their actions / dialogue towards amateur sources trying to sell here. It was intended to be used for harm reduction and I still think that's what it is.

Millard isn't going to run anyone out of here because administration takes a stance of impartiality when it comes to sources.

If you think closing the underground or asking admin to enforce rules is the only way to prevent this subforum from being a source board then I think that is selling this community a little bit short. It's an evolving experiment and we're only getting more adept and solving these problems. Asking for enforcement would mean dropping the uncensored model and stance of impartiality, which would be going completely backwards.
 
Well then CBS and WeightedChin-up and Brutus needs to go clean house , go tell Astro and Spetz and Naps and all the other little labs to hit the road . We dont want open sourcing in Meso , no more !! -lol. NO MORE LABS !!

I don't want to be a dick and put on here what the word source means by definition.

But a lot of you think a steroid source is literally a paid to sell site with regulating restrictions provided only.

To be clear, I'm not suggesting sources should be banned or not allowed to post on Meso. I know some feel that way but I'm not one of them.

The problem is with start-up sources. It's those sources who are responsible for turning the underground into a circus and trying to vet them is pointless because history has shown that almost all of them are non-viable. And they are too high-risk. Giving new sources a chance by complying with the SCOC has only encouraged more of them to come. However, they are still free to post on Meso as far as I'm concerned. As long as no one uses them, they probably won't stay long anyway.

I don't have any objections to well known sources maintaining a presence on Meso and if people want to buy from them, have at it. As we've seen, there still no guarantee their gear is good but they're not likely to scam outright.
 
Why not go the other way and just take away all rules??? Anyone can post up a source thread and try to sell products..
If they don't offer things that other sources offer like labmax results or mass spec, their threads will get no traction. Seems like best way to keep everyone safe and have the most information possible would be to allow anything, sure some people might send money and get bad product, but there is no way to stop that from happening no matter what we do. Don't encourage sources to come here but If astro wants to post or pharmalogic labs or nophat or anyone.....why not let it be out in the open for everyone to see and then make their own judgment from?

Another site and word of mouth. The only sources I ever used here were bio and pep. That was quite enough.

The reality is Meso is so popular now that there are a lot of guys who come on here so desperate for a source that it is like a kid in a candy store for a source.

As many have said if this board didn't buy from all of these start up operations that showed up here they would soon be gone but that I'SNT the case. There was just a guy who started here by butting in on European Pharmacists thread and saying his prices were too high. Within a few days he posted a price list and within a month someone had made an order for several thousand dollars and he was gone. Spetz has been here less than six months and there have been a hundred warning signs with him but he has a long, long list of Meso customers. That's without mentioning my favorite Karl, who despite repeatedly fucking over all of the guys making big orders with him which were well documented was still in business here

We can say all day that were not going to allow sources to run wild and loose. And that the heavy hitters and other good standing members are going to send the start up UGL's packing, but this means NOTHING as long as there are 100's of gear thirsty dudes running wild in the underground willing to take part in any bathtub operation that shows it face.
Maybe there needs to be some restrictions put on who can post and discuss topics in the underground. This could stop every startup from coming straight in and throwing there dirty ass feet up on the coffee table! Also would help with the kids coming in and chasing every source that tries to set up shop here.
