Daily Log to 2019 Show Season

And you’re a new father right?

This my friend is what earns my respect...
Yeah my son is about 18mos old. I put myself in a position to allow my wife to choose whether or not she wanted to be a stay at home mom. She dove on that opportunity before I could finish the sentence. So that has helped me immensely, obviously, with keeping up with bodybuilding and family. I’m still up before the sun and in bed no earlier than 10.

All comes down to having done MY part in the offseason. I came to my coach with a caloric intake and body composition that provided for him being able to make slow, progressive, “healthy” plans to get me to where I need to be. And this isn’t just for competition. It is unreasonable to expect any coach for any goal to make dreams come true with a piss poor initial state.

He’s a very intelligent guy with a ton of knowledge and plenty of experience. At this point it’s pretty stress free. We talk and discuss, but for the most part I just feed him the info he needs, he sends the update, and I execute. Minimal stress.

Not trusting the process is THE single biggest mistake people make with any goal. And you sabotage yourself and your coach by doing so; information being fed back as if it were to one plan when it’s actually not is useless.

Thanks again dude, happy some people not only appreciate this but might get something out of it themselves.
Yeah, someone who is looking to use your log as a reference guide to help them prep, or they can use your log and the hardwork you have displayed, have stated to help them overcome a obstacle in another part of their life. All in all it’s good stuff bro. Hardwork always pays off. We obviously hope for a medal, but regardless making it to the finish line is still a accomplishment of its own.

What tracking has begun. Around 180oz not including pre/intra/post and before bed shakes. Once we get to two gallons the shaker will be gone and I’ll be a gallon toting douche again.

Probably going to post a depleted photo to show you guys the difference from “empty” and flat to “full.” The change should be drastic from that to the stage look.

Go time @Mac11wildcat. Keep the pedal on the floor and trust your coach as things get weird. :)

Giving you guys a sneak peak before true depletion (which I’ll show) and the carb up (you’ll see pre and stage photos). I’ve never seen striated intermedius heads in my quads, so that’s awesome. Glutes are damn near shredded top to bottom but not all the way there yet. Abs and lower back continue to tighten and are always last for me.

This was all done to this point without the use of:
-t3/t4
-clen
-DNP

May see those during nationals prep (but def not DNP).

Cardio is still 75m. We just pulled slin and intra workout carbs (slin will come back for the carb up).

No big changes to diet though, still 3800 cals around 500/200/100.

Gear is still the same. Will be stopping pins about 7 days out just to prevent any possibility of swelling or redness from a shot.

Today starts some depletion focused training with superset/giant sets, lower weights, lest rest. Each body part gets hit at least once with this and the final day or two of training before resting for the week will be touchups to make sure I’m truly empty before we head to weigh ins and fill back up.

W/Th/F should be off days, but we will see how it goes. Rest does amazing things for me (dropping weight mostly) so for now that’s the plan.

Nice! I'm excited for you. It's never better than when you're dialed in and about to crush some dreams of those that didn't work hard enough. Can't wait to see the package for the NAs.

As much as I like being the nice guy, crushing hopes and dreams is pretty fun.

May have some changes there. I’ll keep you informed.

palms down hmmmmmm.. ;)

Started depletion training today. Goal is to empty the tank of glycogen to prepare for supercompensation. I started these a bit earlier than most as I’ve been doing Pull/Push/Legs as my regular split and typically am a bit higher volume than most. We will hit each pull/push/legs once like this and assess the need for anything else.

None of this training is to mechanical failure; you’re just dead by the last set of each giant set.

Depletion Workout 1
Pull Day
Giant Set 1: 3x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
1a. Wide Grip Mag Pull Downs
1b. Seated Close Grip Cable Rows
1c. Assisted Pull-ups
1d. Reverse Flyes

Giant Set 2: 3x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
2a. Machine Pullovers
2b. “Superman Pulls” on HS High Row
2c. Flite Seated Row
2d. Pulldown Machine (Parallel Grip)

Superset 1: 2x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
3a. Medium Grip Mag Pulldowns
3b. Parallel Grip Seated Rows

Superset 2: 2x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
4a. Two Arm Preacher Curl Machine
4b. Hammer Curls

Final Set - 2 Arm Bent DB Rows - 1x30

All of this takes between 30-45m, is absolutely brutal on low carbs and low energy, and there is nothing to be had but exhaustion; no pumps, no cool shots in the mirror, etc

Depletion Workout 2
Push
Giant Set 1 - 3x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
1a. HS Press
1b. Cable Flyes
1c. HS Shoulder Press
1d. Lateral Raises

Giant Set 2- 3x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
2a. Incline Smith Press
2b. PecDec
2c. High Pulls
2d. Dips

Giant Set 3 - 2x15-20 each, 30s rest between sets
3a. Front Raises
3b. Lateral Raise Machine
3c. Rear Delt Rows

4a. VBar Tricep Pushdowns
4b. OverHead Tricep Extension Machine
